TVBox for XBMC + NAS Suggestion (Raspberry Pi replacement)

    Hi,
I am currently using a RaspberryPi (Rpi) as a XBMC player and a kind of "NAS".

    I'm looking for an upgrade.
I know that this is not an Android TVBox but, i have recently seen a new one called BananaPi (BPi)
I like the specs from it (BPi), but I would like as well to have some of the features of an Android, like playing some games.

There is an Android OS customized for the BPi, but if I'm going to install an Android and not using the GPIO, then it may be better to use an Android TVBOX

The main use of the "Project" is:
    • XBMC/KODI: media Player
    • (Android APP) SambaServer: I want to connect 2 HD to the TVBox, 1 to store all the media i want to play in the BOX, and it to be accessible from any computer/tablet at home.
    • (Android APP) rSync: I want to copy the contents of certain HD1 folders to HD2 as a backup.
    • (Android APP) UltimateServers: This is optional, but i would like to have my mediawiki (Apache, MySQL, PHP server) hosted here.

    The minimun HWD specs:
    • LAN 10/100/1000: Raspberry Pi has a 10/100 and gives a maximum of 4mb/s which is ok for watching movies but not really "great" as a NAS.
    • Video HWD decoder: Well, this always help
    • HDMI CEC: I wish I could control the XBMC via my TV remote as I can do with the Rpi
    • Then the typical: Dual/quad Core, 1 or 2 Gb Ram, etc...
    • The BananaPi has a SATA connection too, which in theory will give a better performance, but this is really optional.

    Any TVBox recommendation for this????
    Sorry for my english :P

    Thanks a lot!

Raspberry pi 2 was released this week, probably the same issues with USB but it is now a quad core chip.

Yeahh, I had seen it, ill wait for some reviews and so, but in the meanwhile i want to check if an android box suits fine for the needs.

At the end I think that the advantadge of the whateverPi is the GPIO port, but of course ... if you use it, and I'm not :S
      well... and the price.

        Odroid-C1

Odroid-C1 looks promising. Relatively new. I have no experience with it but would like to get one.

In Fact is very similar to the banana Pi and Banana Pro (enhanced version of the BPi)
          banana pi價格與詳細規格比較,共378筆。還有batana oil、banana republic 外套、santana shape、nania migo、anna sui 褲。現貨推薦與歷史價格一站比價,全網最便宜都在 BigGo!

          Price is similar
          Difference seems to the CPU:

Odroid is using Amlogic S805 Quad Core
Bananas are using Allwinner A20 Dual Core
(I dont know which one can perform better)

Seems that market is becoming flooded with boards :P
