Best Config for Playing 1080p HD Audio MKVs

    Hi everyone,

I've recently purchased a Beelink R89 and will be setting it up very shortly. My main requirements are being able to smoothly play 1080p 24p files with HD audio (DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD) and ideally have my files managed by Kodi (or equivalent).

Just wondering what the best combination of software/firmware/settings would be to ensure smooth playback and bitstreaming HD audio?

From what I can gather I should install the Wasser firmware 2.0.5 but not sure which version of Kodi/XBMC/SPMC I should run? Any other tips to get this thing running sweet?

Forgot to add, I'll be running some 3D files too.

From my experience SPMC beta 2 is currently the best.
You also have to test it by changing the settings in hardware acceleration of the codecs that will be used.

SPMC 14.1 beta 2? Is it available already? Do you have a downloadlink?

          No SPMC 14.0 beta 2.

          Check this out:
That worked for me in short (plays 1080p and 720p mkv over gigabit-ethernet without stutters):
          - use spmc 13.4.0 (I now use SPMC 14.0 beta 2)
          - in expert configuration mode, under video use the rklibstagefright hardware acceleration only
          - from post #420 by sillykeith these options:
--- to turn OFF "adjust display refresh rate to match video" and
--- turn ON "Sync playback to display" from within XMBC System -> Video -> Playback.
          - from post #482 'firewall tuning' commands by vanzylst
          - wlan off, ethernet on in android configuration

perhaps this may help you. my stutters are completely gone after tuning the firewall.

The posts from above are from Wasser firmware!!

Well SPMC 14.0 beta 2 can bitstream DTS and AC3 over HDMI.
I do not know DTS-HD because i do not have such file.
            I can download and test.

That would be awesome if you could test it!

                Bad news...
                It doesn't seem to work.
                Not for me at least...
My amplifier turn to DTS (not DTS-MA or HD-DTS) even if i try it with 3 different files.
In a popcorn hour A-110 it work ok...

Currently I'm using wasser 2.0.3 with SPMC 14.1 in a tronsmart r28 meta.
I update the SPMC to latest just to check but I will leave it as is!!!
