for info you have two folder wifi (wifi and wifi1) cause 6 files with same name by pair. I dont know if you need all files. Anyway the 6 files from wifi folder are there.

good news and bad news

good news i flashed and wifi was working,

but bad news i have a splitted screen issue and unable to change anything screen.

i succeeded to enter setting but no setting for hdmi available only police size and screen mirror but nothig about hdmi.

btw it ws really hard to back to my daemonium set, i have to face to "system, data, and son on not mount" within twrp

TVPAD4 remote

First of all big thanks to you all! This thread has already been very helpful to me. Maybe you can help me with the next steps...

I have a Tvpad 4. This is a Chinese tv box based on the Amlogic S802 and running Android. It worked very well, but I managed to screw up the original firmware/system so the system was almost bricked. Using an internal reset switch and the Amlogic USB burning tool I managed to install a new firmware. This also wiped the orignal system completely.

This new firmware works but there are 2 issues that I'm working on now: no Wifi & remote not working.

Using the remote.conf file I managed getting the remote to work once the system is booted. However the remote doesn't work in recovery mode. This is annoying because there is no other way to navigate into the recovery menu.
Do you have any idea how I can get the remote to work in recovery mode as well?

You need to attach an USB keyboard or mouse, that will work in recovery.

I believe the mouse didn't work, but I still have to try a keyboard (don't have one available anymore)

However with the old firmware the remote did work in recovery!

Thanks csgabe! The mouse did indeed work in the recovery mode. I didn't succeed to get the wifi working yet, maybe you have some advice.

Unfortunately I don't have a full backup of the old system, but I do have a copy of most of the files including the 8188eu.ko file in the /system/lib folder

I managed running as root and using insmod to install the module. When I use lsmod it is listed as Live. With modinfo I checked the version and it matched my current kernel 3.10.33.
I also copied the old files from the /etc/wifi folder.
However I'm still not able to enable wifi. I can move the slider but it does not turn green and no networks are found. Later it is in off again.

I don't have my old boot.img... Any suggestions?

M201 home screen

A bit off topic i have this android box m201 on the home screen there is a wheel with icons on it e.g youtube,gallery,settings and also xbmc is there anyway of changing these icons i have installed Kodi and wanted a quick link from the home screen because now the xbmc icon is obsolete.

My only issue with the stock firmware (which is KOT49H.20150320.V0823 test-keys) is that it is 720p native (in build.prop, in Kodi system info, and by watching 1080p test chart video, both in Kodi and under different players), even though the Box's setting is "1080p" and the TV shows 1080p (over HDMI). I searched, and it looks the common trick with cheap boxes: everything is rendered at 720p, and only in the HDMI module it is upscaled to 1080p (obviously, you loose all the details of the original 1080p material).

I am looking for an alternative firmware for the box which run 1080p natively. Can you tell me if any alternative firmware listed in the OP is 1080p?

I second that, mine is doing the same dirty trick; amazing nobody else seems to be bothered by it, it reduces this otherwise fine box to junk.
