    M8 Stock unrooted rom?

    Hi Guy's,

I've just bought a new M8 S802 OTT box, the primary use of this box was to be able to watch Netflix, sync with my EE TV box and watch NOW TV.

Netflix and EE TV work just fine, however NOW TV refuses to play, telling me that my device is modified and to un-modify it.

I guess this is because the box has a rooted rom on it, I've tried unrooting the rom, but this has made no difference.
Now I know these boxes get rooted so they can run XMBC, but I'm not bothered about that.

So wondered if there's a stock unrooted rom I can flash to the box.

    Any help is much appreciated!
    Lance.

I don't have your answer regarding running the M8 unrooted but I doubt if you are getting Netflix in HD, of course you might not care, I know I do. If you want to check Netflix HD, try the Example Short 23.976 with embedded bandwidth metering, my bet is your M8 will test at 1750kbps and 720x480. An approved Netflix box will get 5800kbps and 1920x1080 with an ISP that can provide Netflix SuperHD. I think it is unlikely finding a way to run the M8 unrooted will change the situation for Now TV or any other. I have had subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, HBO GO, Hulu Plus and a weekend free trial to Showtime Anytime, none worked well with my box.

I'm not sure what resolution the M8 box ran Netflix in, but it appeared to be fairly decent on my 32" bedroom TV, Now TV refuses to run full stop! By comparison my Roku boxes work perfectly, but there's no EE TV app for them! :-(

Thought an android box would be the best all round solution, how wrong could I be?

You couldn't be any more wrong if you want the mainstream subscription services, an unofficial Android mini PC is terrible or those, Roku is really good for those services. I don't know anything about EE TV app, don't even recall hearing about it previously.

Tangoman not sure if you still need help with this but, I've used the zip from this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...oot-ZIP-update to root M8 and M8N boxes
