    Pipo P4 random powerdowns

I have been using a Pipo P4 since june now and I have been experiencing random power downs for the past months. As I don't use it daily it's not really annoying and it boots quite fast but it just doesnt feel right. Yesterday it seemed as though the tablet played a sound and then shut down.

How can I find out what is causing the shut down? Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you still running the stock firmware that came on the tablet originally? Or, have you tried updating the firmware from the Pipo site?

Pipo released several updates in an attempt to solve the rebooting problem and battery consumption. Here's the link to their latest official firmware release:

Here are some later test releases:

My latest custom ROM is based on the last firmware update. Running it, I have not noticed a reboot.

Well I have had it with all your roms for the P4, I am still on 1.9 currently but until 1.9 I immediatly installed your new roms when they came out. Should 2.0 solve some of that? On my last upgrade to 1.9 I only updated the system.img so that I didnt have to reinstall everything. Could that be part of the problem?

Partly so. The. Kernel is the main thing that is changed with each firmware release. If you have at least the latest kernel...you should have improvement.

Thanks again Riley, I just upgraded to 2.0.1, I wish I could accept all permissions when restoring Titanium backup though Will take a while to get everything back up and running.
