HD Netflix on an MX III ?!

    Dear Freaktab-Community,
I bought a MXIII (1GB) to watch Netflix on my TV. I installed the player, ran the Netflix-App and TADAA .... got a resolution of 100:200 or so. Damnit.
Is there any solution of getting a HDres Netflix App running on my MXIII?
I went with OpenELEC but the NetfliXBMC seems to be broken with OpenELEC (No Chrome installed...)

    Any help?

        Hi guys,

I'm new to Beelink - just purchased an MXIII plus - so wouldnt expect my experience to be too different to the MXIII.

Out of the box Netflix wasn't in HD. However I installed Market Helper from XDA and set my device to Nexus 7 3G. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2146216 for details.
Its easy and takes only a few seconds to work. Doesn't last a reboot - which is OK by me.

I now appear to get at least 720p HD. Certainly looks much better than my Roku 2 and on par with my old Apple TV. The only difference is that the UI is clearly designed for touch and the transition from SD to HD is a little bit jittery (just 1-2 frames) when it first ramps up (like the Roku). Once it starts going - it works great. Looking at my network usage its streaming at between 8-11Mbps.

        Hope this helps..

Why exactly should this turn into an Intel vs. ARM flamewar?
When its simply a question of proper DRM Management. You can hardly fault all these 'Droid Boxes out here for not implementing it.

          1) It costs extra to do so
          2) These Boxes were meant to run XBMC/Kodi, and so NOT need it!

Your right about One thing though, it'll be up to the OEMs to implement such a change, a change that isn't gonna come though.

But there are plenty of ARM (Droid) Boxes out there that have the PlayReady DRM enabled out there too...
Its the same story of doing Ones Homework before hitting the Buy It Now Button. In my case understanding the "Difference" between the 1G and 2G Boxes (or a lack of both 802.11a & Bluetooth), In your'alls case the missing DRM.

Appropro this MXIII Plus... Is it like the other Plus "H" Models that can do x.265 <720p IN HARDWARE! And also has 802.11ac? (ac =1300Mbps *theoretical throughput.)

P.s. Never mind I just done a quick Google, and found out that it is more or less like the MINIX neo x8h Plus. What I wonder is is its still worth getting that or going with a RK3288, which I gather is overall better, (e.g. Faster!) then the MINIXs Amlogic S812 SoC Processor.

That's interesting since I didn't think a spoof would work with Netflix. Play the Example Short 23.976 with embedded bandwidth metering to see what resolution Netflix is playing. My guess, you will see 720x480 and 1750kbps, not HD. Netflix Super HD will stream at 5800kbps and 1920x1080 with any ISP offering that level and a box capable of playing it.
