CS918s Custom Recovery

Hi Guys,

I hope you are all keeping well. This forum is great, it is good to be back

I have been looking long and hard and not seen a custom recovery for this box yet.

Does anyone have any information or know of any software that can be used to decompile and make changes to standard ROM IMG file and then recompile the extracted IMG to make it a ROM file and thus create a custom recovery?

Is this dependent on TWRP by any chance?

Ps I tried a software called Dragonface_V2.2.0 to decompile my standard ROM IMG file and it decompiled ok, however I can add about 2 or 3 apks (can't remove any), when i recompile after adding about 2 or 3 apks the IMG compiles fine and can be flashed.

As soon as I try to add more APKs it fails! Also I don't like the fact that any apps on the standard ROM not needed can't be removed.

Please help. I am a complete newbie to custom recoveries and any professional advice would be much appreciated. Thanking you in advance

Last version of DRAGONFACE is v2.2.3 . Try to update it. As last resort, find a "cleaner" custom ROM .

When I run Dragonface it automatically updates to version 2.2.3. I even tried 2 different computers and no joy.

Anyone have a clean ROM for this box with Kit Kat and full 1080 p support? Any more suggestions? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as you and would like to do a fresh and new firmware install. I'll download the Dragonface file and see what I get. I think we may need to update our very own rom. Have you had a look at www.dragondevs.com and do a search for CS918S.
