[Help] MK808B Plus with RTL8723bs (Wifi not working after finless1.1)

I just received my MK808B Plus but it turned out that it has different wifi chip. After flashing Finless 1.1 now it is not having any wifi connectivity. Could someone please help me flash rtl8723bs driver or compile a Rom that adds support to it or any other solution to resolve this. Thank you in advance!

You should PM Finless - just in case he is not aware of this hardware change. I wonder if using this wireless chipset improves the WIFI on these things, as the other versions are a little weak.

I am not sure if it isn't clone of some kind, because with original firmware it did not identify as MK808 Plus, but EC-MK808B.

The mainboard is marked as EC_MK808B 1.0 maybe specially developed for the seller Shenzhen EC Technology Co (www.szetech.com) IDK

I don't have any impressions about the rtl8723bs - I didn't test it at all, I flashed Finless 1.1 as soon as I got the device, because the firmware it came with was awfully sluggish and buggy.

Now I am trying somehow to extract rtl8723bs.ko module from the .img file.

If someone could help me with that - I would be really grateful.

Have you tried to install this rom? Does wifi works? I have problem to download this file it allways fails. Could you please upload firmware to jo dropbox or google drive and send mi the link?

I have received the same build yesterday.

i bought from the same seller as yours.

this is what i tested for so far:
- wifi connection is stable.
- usb lan not working (i have an old mk808b where it works without problem, used same adapter)
- play store, apps very restricted and many many apps not compatible.
- does not come pre-rooted.
- google sees the tv box as a phone. TV box is in landscape. But even in landscape. App like spotify shows only portrait mode. also Big Fail.

hopefully someone can build a rooted, spoofed tablet play-store, wifi/usblan-working firmware for us.

I finally resolve the problem by installing the rom fstap provided http://pan.baidu.com/s/1eQImf2i. I used USB burn tool to install and not throuht sd card as written in instructions . I think that this is not the rom that was orginal installed on my device because it now says that i have model mk808b without plus. But it now works. I tested the remote controler program RemoteIME.apk and it works. XBMC, facebook,gmail,dropbox,youtube,chrome,drive..works but could't intall them throuht googleplay but manually.

I didn't flash the original rom for the reasons that miljano mentioned - it is really bad (most apps on Playstore won't install; no root; and slow in general)
Finless 1.1 works far better. Currently I use it with USB2Ethernet adapter (I have tried 3 types and it only works correctly with 1 of them - one from Asus that I got with my Zenbook - here; Other 2 were generic chinese usb adapters: like this and this).

Unfortunately I don't have enough knowledge to extract only the wifi driver from the original rom and load it in finless 1.1.

If someone is experienced enough in this stuff, his/her help will be highly appreciated.
