    Beelink R89 AV cable

I want to buy an AV cable for R89 box but I have no idea what type of cable should i buy.
Does anybody know where is located the ground on the 4 pole jack?

    Thank you very much

It isn't that kind of cable. For starters 3,5mm jack should have 4 zones (3 black rings) like mobile headphones with microphone and not three (stereo).

My multimeter says that I have 32 Ohm headphones and ground pad is nearest to the plug, next is composite video singal, and two at the pointy end are L&R audio channels.

So that means T-Chip pcb (HPH. Ugoos UT3) uses another setup?

If that HPH, UGOOS AV jack pin assigment is right then certainly Ubox (nexteon) is different and it is similar to Kingnovel R-K42 which is compatible with OMTP standard when mic input is replaced by video output. What's more HPH, UGOOS AV jack pin assingment wouldn't be compatible with any "standard": AHJ or OMTP. When video signal output is where right audio channel should be I wouldn't dare to listen to the sound in headphones.

It mean this cable should be OK for R89 :

          Right?

It look alright but first I would ask the seller which zone at the jack is a ground. If it is the first (sleeve) then eventually you will have only to rearrange colors of the RCA plugs if case other connections are different than these in your R89 AV jack.

I have been using a cable that I had laying around on my R89 for awhile now, and last night I discovered that I'm not getting any audio in the right channel.

On my cable, video is red, I assume left is still white, and until yesterday I had assumed incorrectly that yellow would be the right channel, but I only get video if I slightly remove the plug from the jack, until the video comes onto the red. Now I'm wondering if possibly the right channel is running on the cable ground. I might check to see if I can get any signal from the cable ground(or maybe not connected at all if it is the tip, since the plug is not fully inserted), but if it's grounded to the tv then probably not, correct?

If anyone finds a source for one of these that is working, please post it. I may try and build one.

I really wish that these better boxes (nextxeon and t chips based) included the cable like the cheaper HTC style and clones do.

Do we have a definite pinout for the nextxeon boards? How about the length? The ugoos ones are supposed to be slightly longer than normal.

              Cheers,

The cable I had(old camcorder), a 15mm, sent ground from the jack to one of the RCA's center pins. Of course that was wrong on several levels. That means it also sent one of the jack's signals to the cables common(ground) conductor/shield.
You can check this with a meter, lowest ohm range. Box off, power disconnected and all cables disconnected, connect your A/V cable to box. Check for continuity on any of the RCA's center pins to the RCA's ground sections. It should read infinity. Now do a continuity check between the RCA's center pins to the outer section(ground/shield) of one of the box's USB ports. This should also be infinity. If continuity is found in this test, the cable is shorting signal to ground or visa versa.
Are you sure the right channel is missing? I used a youtube vid that is a test for channel ID(5.1, but works for L&R too). It will help you find which channel is missing/mis-assigned.

I got a working cable on ****. The one you want says that it is for Roku and TiVo.

All the wires go to the correct place. The only issue is the right and left channels are switched.

I ran a speaker test and when it said left it was from the right speaker and vice versa. The channels would have been correct if I were standing in front of the tv and looking in the opposite direction

Other than that it's working great. Most importantly the ground is in the correct place(closest to the cable/farthest from the tip). Video is also in the correct place, then stereo is switched.

No more partially inserting the cable and 1 channel audio for me! Well worth the $4-5 price. The cable I used before left ground disconnected which caused the video quality to drop. It is much, much more stable now.

Just so there is no confusion the pinout of R89 (and I assume Tronsmart as well) is not the same as the t-chips pinout. Also the t-chips plug is longer than ours.

I hope this helps some of you guys. Me, I'm basking in the splendor of stereo and stable video for now.

So glad that I finally got this cable!
                    Cheers,

That´s correct, finally I get working fine the R-89 throught AV port, with a cable with plug 3.5 mm diameter to 15 mm long, with the ground nearest to the plug (sleeve), then video (ring 2), then audio right- red color (ring 1) and to the point - tip is located Audio left (White), which correspond to the OMTP standard (which is mostly used in most older devices). I had been wasting time trying with a two different cables with CTIA / AHJ estándar (which is mostly used on modern Android devices), with ground in second position - ring 2 (one ahead after sleeve), of course never worked;the problema here it´s that we are blind trying to figure out what is the pinout configuration (and the total lenght of the plug, being 15 mm the standard lenght, but as had been reported some other chinese manufacturer are using 18 mm lenght???); so for me the lesson learned it´s that if the manufacturer do not say what is the pinout configuration when the AV cable is not provided in the original package I had to ask directly to them; with some luck they will answer, not guarantee..
Now I had the same problem with Tronsmart Draco AW80, in which the OMPT nor the CTIA/AHJ standard cables work throught the AV port, so there is not any standard followed, so I need to try with the "ground" located on Ring 1 (second ahead of sleeve) or on the tip position, which is the most important to know, because the others pin/plugs (yellow, red, White) can be easily interchangeable, trial and error, until get video signal on the screen.
Thanks for your post Gormar, Beelink (Oman) never answered before however had been asked about it or had been reported to them problems with the AV port when actually the problem it´s just to figure out what is the pinout and correct cable to get it working.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread here, but I just reread this and am confused. Does this mean that the cable link on Amazon works without any modification?

Just in case anyone is still looking for a cable, the working one which I bought on **** was labeled as being for roku or TiVo.

The most important thing is that, as BTR11 and gormar stated above, ground is in sleeve position(closest to plug), and video in ring 2 (although if ground is in sleeve, then any of the three center pins could be connected to ring 2 and you just rearrange them so that they are connected to the tv correctly). Also it's definitely 3.5mm x 15mm (and not 18mm, which is the case with hph/ugoos).

If you get one labeled roku/TiVo run a speaker test app to make sure left is left and right is right(free in play store). In my case I had to a swap those 2 cables.

All is still working great with mine!

Sorry if it's already been explained about that Amazon camcorder cable. I guess maybe I missed it if someone said this is the correct pinout already.

                        Thanks and cheers!

That's interesting about the Draco AW80. Even though the manufacturer is the same, the pinout is completely different?

How confusing! Why would they do something like that?

If I own a company I would be sure to use the same pinout for A/V on all devices. Especially if the A/V cable isn't going to be included with the device!
