can't use the pointer to control menus

just wondered if anybody has seen this problem and what is the solution.

On my square M8 when i try to use my Logitech k400 to navigate around in apps that require a mouse i get this error: you can't use the pointer to control menus generated by external devices

This is just a guess but, do you have the mouse plugged into the TV's USB port rather than the M8 USB port? That error message looks like it's being generated by the TV.

I was trying to help my cousin over the phone solve this issue.

Turns out what you said was the problem. He had the usb receiver for his wireless keyboard plugged into the usb port on the TV. So he removed it from the tv and plugged the usb receiver into the box and that solved the problem.
