I need advice on which to buy. I bought an MX3 1G/8G and would like to upgrade for better custom rom choices. Is the M8 better than the MX3 2G, or vice versa? The hardware looks pretty much the same in both.

Just look on forum. There are official firmwares for mxiii 1gb and 2gb which are the same. Then custom ROM, main one is finless. I don't think there would be much difference between 1gb and 2gb in terms of ROMs.Originally posted by tomas_em View Post

Nothing is really wrong with it, other than I can't use the finless rom..lol. I have a custom rom from mediaman on it, works ok. Sometimes if you leave Kodi running for awhile, and come back later in the day, if you select something to watch, there is audio but no video. I have to restart Kodi to get video again. I've played with a few different roms, including amlinux. I'd just like the 2G model to play with.Comment

Since you already own an MXIII, I would say get an M8 or one of the other similar boxes. I do think 2GB RAM is worth the premium for any of the Android mini PCs, so whatever you get, be sure it has 2GB RAM. I do own the MXIII with 2GB/8GB and have never played with an M8 so I can't offer a comparison but I don't think one is really any better than the other.Comment
