Trouble backing up firmware and IMEI for Cube 9X B1505

    Hi All,

I'm new to this rooting thing and this is my first android tablet. I just received my cube 9x talk today and I read from Riley's thread that it is recommended to create a backup of the IMEI and firmware first before installing a custom ROM to get rid of those Chinese apps. I downloaded MTK droid tools but it can't root the device. It says "inaccessible SU".

[+] This may take a few minutes.
    [-] Failure.
ATTENTION! Requests for confirmation on the device screen are possible!
    --- ERROR : SU inaccessible
--- Through CWM it is possible to get root on this phone!

I can't even create a scatter file because the button is greyed out. I tried Mobileuncle and it says I need root first. Does this mean I won't be able to backup my IMEI and firmware until I flash a custom ROM update? But I want to back up the IMEI and stock ROM before I flash a custom ROM.

My cube 9x build is B1505. I assume this is 2015 5th week? I'm using stock firmware v2.0 right now.

    Your help is appreciated.

you can flash TWRP recovery, then install Supersu binaries from there!

Thanks for your reply everyone. I finally got it rooted by going into recovery mode and using mmrrdd's root file. (Thanks man!) I created a backup with MTK droid tools and it put everything in a folder but it also gave me a zip backup. I don't need both right? It seems the uncompressed one have more files in it.

Also, do I really need to install a custom ROM to get rid of the chinese apps? It seems like I can just uninstall them one by one. Sorry i'm totally new to this!

once you have rooted your device you can uninstall all stuff you don't need through Titanium backup.

There are some apps that cannot be installed "one by one" without using Titanium Backup

I'm not too sure which ones I need I would assume ygps is needed for gps function? I uninstalled all the ones that have chinese characters.

I also want to flash the size of the internal storage from 2gb to 6gb. How would I do that? I assume i only need to flash the EBR1 and EBR2 with the 6gb files provided by 900supersport? But his scatter file is for firmware v1.8 and mine is v2.0. Would that matter? I'm not sure if i'm doing this correctly. I haven't flash anything yet just waiting for a reply before I do. Thanks

                You're right:
                flash only EBR1 & 2.
Scatter file of 1.8 is ok for 2.0 too.
