Boy do I know how you feel... 😟
Unfortunately Amlogic's USB BURNING TOOL is Windows ONLY.
That means its Windows (*.img Files), or *.zip Files for MicroSD Cards.

If this isn't really an option, the I guess you could try running it under WINE, but again I think the trick would be in getting the WorldCup Driver to load up. So I guess your only other option would be to setup a VM of WinXP, or 7 and use that instead. Since that would operate the most Windows like without having a Windows PC.

This is the kinda crap that will ensure that we'll never really be ever rid of MicroSoft.

        Assuming that you can:

        a) Still access the Recovery... (e.g. Your not Softbircked)
        b) Have a compatible *.zip File (As opposed to the *.img Files which can only be flashed via a PC)

Then yes... You can likely recover that way, unless the Firmware your trying to recover is appears older then the One currently installed at which point it might refuse to install said Firmware on those grounds. And, so only leaving you with the (Windows), PC method to force said install.

Like I said I know your "pain"... The only difference is I had a working Win7 PC Down in my Basement, that I had to drag back up here again. It would have been a lot simpler if I could have flashed the newest 113k4 Firmware (K200, M82 - MXIII), *img File though my Netbook which only has Mint Linux on it.
