    Low power USB ports!

Has anyone else had problems with external devices not geting enough power from the USB ports? My flash drives, mouse, and keyboard work fine with no problems . But my external DVD/CD drive doesn't work right. Sometime windows will see it but not spin the disk or it will light up but windows will not see it. I think it is not getting enough power from the USB port. I tried all 4 with same results. DVD/CD drive works well with my old laptop. Any suggestions or help are welcomed.

I had issues with the USB power not being strong enough. I ended up buying a high quality powered USB hud. All the issues are gone.

I have the same one on my main computer but I'm not very satisfied. It's not compatible with some devices (especially USB 1) and prevents the PC to boot when they're connected.
And sometimes my mouse/keyboard freeze for half a second...

Updating the firmware of the USB3 controller on my motherboard improved things a lot, but it's still not perfect

You do not have to buy expensive USB 3.0 Powered Hubs for PiPo X7, since the ports are USB 2.0.

Hi and sorry to have been misleading
actually i am using it mostly as a multiple charger.
All my files are stored in a NAS that is connected to the Pipo via router.
On the Pipo i have only a wifi dongle for the keyboard and mouse and a usb stick.
Thanks again for the very helpful advice.
