    CS918 Q7

    Hi all

    I have problem with my android tv box, cs918(XT-Q7-V10), he was working very well, but after i shutdown, and then turned him on, he was in standby mode red light, and he cant go blue....I am clicking button to power on him but he just stay's in red light mode.. I Even tried other roms(before i this i never put other rom on him) after i saw that neither rom helps, i put the backup of orginal rom on him... I really dont know what to do, can somebody help me?

    I try to understand what you wrote:
    The last status was that the box works well with the reflashed backup you had done?
    If yes, is it the first time you reboot the device after the reflashed backup?
    (I have to ask, because maybe you have changed the bootloader during you tested other roms, and maybe the backup doesn't fits to the bootloader???)
    Anyway, worst case you have to use mask mode and try to flash one of the other roms, (because I think you doesn't have/know the bootloader which was running at the backup)...

      Thing what i want to say is, my box was working very well but suddenly he stopped, red light and he cant boot thats my last status... i didnt put any rom but i didnt know what to do so i installed other roms, but same problem, red light... i have done mask mode, paperclip between 8 9 pin, i got blue status in batch tool, deleted idb restore stock rom, and again red light.... I hope that you undestand what i want to say..

      when i was in mask mode, i try to put RK3188Loader(L)_V1.24 and RK3188Loader(L)_V1.21, but it didnt work, i got idb download fail, then i putted RK3188Loader(L)_V2.10 and that loader is working, i restored the rom, but still red light...

        Ok, thx, it's now more clear what you had done...

        If it happens during normal using (with working power off/on in the past) AND you also tried mask mode, then I think it is dead (but you wrote you could flash)... sorry...

        But I have to say, I'm wondering that you get a idb download fail at mask mode, because we e.g. use it to get back an older loader version at the device (or also to refresh the nand) at some other devices at the past, but if I'm not wrong using an all-in-one img instead of using separate imgs (for each partition)...

        EDIT:
        had you tried to power on the device during connected OTG (becuase if the OTG is connected to e.g. the running TV or an active HUB) the box will starts if you will plug in the psu... only an idea to except a dead power switch at the device, BUT I think you already recognised this effect during booting to bootloader because of flashing...

        EDIT2:
        Another idea, if you are also using Linux (worst case by virtual box), is to try to use the device with boot from SD

        but I only used it at the past for Linux and never tried to build an Android SD card (maybe you have an class 10 you can use to try it and if it works, you should buy a Samsung EVO)...

          i tried to put microusb/charge in microusb slot, but nothing happens...this method 2 i dont use at this moment linux.... i really dont know what is with this box, i only had 5 months, and that red light happened.....

            Only to be sure, you CAN'T power up the device via the OTG port, you can only force to boot the device if there is power at the OTG, so that means you also need the PSU at the power-port...

                hi are you able to boot ur box. I do have same box I bought it in oct14 and 3-4 days ago it just displayed android logo. I tried to flash wasser rom which done success fully but waste as it was not up , on ly android recovery image just displayed I tried to flash another rom and it gone dead during recoery. now I can even enter in recovery mode. rkandroid natch tool is not even recognizing it. I tried to go in maskmode also but no use. I dont know that I am not able to enter in masrom mode or box is just dead so nobody can enter in that mode.

                  hi, i cant boot box, i think because i dont get a screen on tv... i dont use hdmi, i use a/v but no signal on tv.... can you give me lik of that wasser rom?, i would like to try with that rom on my box

                    I have got the same problem with Q7 MK888 CS918 Quad core 1G/ 8G RK3188. I tried uploading FW. Now its dead. I cannot connect to pc to change the FW. It is not detecting.
                    How to enter mask mode ? Please help
