    Beelink MXIII Plus

    Hi there everyone.
Sorry if this has already been answered but I wasn't able to find anything.

Does the Beelink MXIII plus (S812) have any alternative roms? OpenELEC?

    Addendum

Can I also please get some input regarding the two devices I am now looking at.

I have given up on waiting for Tronsmart Draco to become usable in my opinion and also given up on the minix x8-h plus for cost and other shortcomings.

    Currently looking at:

MXIII (S802, I'm assuming it's Beelink but not branded as such)

    $99.13CAD

    Beelink MXIII Plus (S812)

    $123.60CAD

Both 2/8, plus has AC and H265 hw, assume both 10/100 ethernet as nothing specified aside from rj45..

My major concern is responsiveness and as close to flawless h264 playback on high mbit files (20+).

    1. Will the S812 vs S802 be worth the extra $20 in that regard?

    2. Anything special about the S812 that would cause delays in or overall lack of development (I don't want a Tronsmart Draco experience, thank you).

    3. Any current ROMs compatible with the S812?

    All input appreciated.
    Thanks!

Now i've evolved the search to Beelink MXIII Plus vs Beelink S82 Plus.

Seems they're almost the same device, except S82 is round and has 2gb/16gb vs the MXIII Plus (2/8). Now to figure out if they cheaped out and gave more but slower emmc in the S82.

The S805 / S812 / S812H should all have 10/100/1000 Ethernet (i.e. GigE Ethernet). Unlike the S802 which only has 10/100 Ethernet. I forget the exact name of the MX Chip, but, that too only has 10/100 Ethernet.

The Beelink S812 variants do not specify gig ethernet so I'm inclined to believe it is not implemented, probably to cut costs. Which is also why I wonder if if the S82 Plus emmc is slower despite being larger.

I'm also confused about the "H" now for the S802-H and S812-H denoting DTS hardware support @5.1ch. The Amlogic website makes no mention of these variants. So now i'm wondering if thats just all marketing and the "H" and non "H" variants actually being the same.

TBH I'm not sure what is ment by DTS... Or DD5.1 FTM, as these should be as simple as a RAW Passthough to your favorite AV Decoder. What good a Soft DTS, or DD5.1 downmix to 2.0 will do? I have no Idea, I can't say that I have much use for it. As for the Next-Gen Stuff? Again I only have +Ten Year Old DVD (DD7.1 / DTS Decoder). So I have no way to say. Other then that I only have a simple S802 No "B", "C", or "H" Model to speak of.

But, in the case of the Minix, and if you also go by Amlogic's own Spec-Sheet http://www.amlogic.com/product03.htm you'll find that only the S805, and the S812 have GigE (e.g. 10/100/1000 Ethernet), as well as having 802.11ac thank the AP-6335 (Though that's not listed on that Sheet...),. So I wouldn't be to afraid about that.

Again AFAIK the "H" designates that, that SoC is capable of rendering HEVC <2160p (i.e. UHD 4k in HARDWARE),.
Where as the non "H" versions of the SoC (In question), otherwise can only do >720p in SOFTWARE

If its otherwise capable of other things such as say DTS-HD-MA Passthough? I wouldn't know that.
