    Amlogic S905 and S912 : New A53 SoC

Amlogic adds two new chips to the line of CPU-specific media center and mini pc. S905 and S912 are made of 64-bit design ARM Cortex-A53 with 4 cores and production process to 28 nm.

All the technical details are not yet known (Amlogic is exposing them to CCBN China Content Broadcastingin these hours) but we know that S912 will support hardware decoding 4K @ 60 Hz file 10-bit HEVC andAVS + , which both manage to manage audio DTS and Dolby hardware and that their video outputs willHDMI 2.0 with support DHCP 2.2 . Promotional material about a good energy management for installations and keys pc stick.
software side, we will support Linux and SDK for Android 5.1 . In short, S905 will be a SoC for the low end of the industry while S912 will be used for media player quality. Mass production is scheduled for the first Q2 2015 (by June) while S912 to wait until Q3 2015 , probably the end of the summer.

all informations are for S905, we don't know much about the S912
the S905 will be power efficient and WILL NOT need a heatsink
the GPU is what I'm worrying about, and old mali 450 in Penta Core version
the VPU must be good supporting HEVC and AVS+, and also HW encoding but we don't know if it's the h.264 or HEVC

the S912 must surely have a more powerful GPU, in 2.5D stacking
