New ROM coming ...

Hi guys, first off, thanks for the good work. I am running Finless 1.6 and everything is ok. I would like to see a new rom, especially since it's supposed to be super fast, but it's a shame we have to wait so the devs could figure out what's wrong with BT... I don't want to start a flame war, but BT for what? I use a 2.4ghz keyboard with trackpad from logitech, the K400, that I bought refurbished for $20 bucks... In most cases only a mouse would be enough. I also have an airmouse/keyboard tht's radio as well...
I think the devs should release the 1.7 and figure out the small details in a 1.7.1 release (or whatever)...

We are not waiting for BT to be fixed. We will release the ROm before that. 2Dark4U is doing some final kernel tweaks. It will be ready then.

He has a few more overclock things to get working and then.... well be ready

My initial testing on early kernels is fantastic if I must say. Real 1080, no lags, in sync videos/audio, etc....

You guys that want to overclock should look at this thread and get your unit ready.

Sorry for the delay. We are giving up trying to get Bluetooth working for this release. That is what was holding us up.

2dark is compiling kernels now. We may hve ROM tonight.

I can confirm a good results of kernel tests.
It's the theme for additional thread about what is changed in kernel from stock (You will like, these changes)
1. More then 200 drivers added (about 50 of them tested)
2. Reworked drivers for WIFI, CPU,GPU (GPU 30% speedup without overclock).
3. WIFI driver reworked (need testing but not bad, I promise
4. I had a time to look into source very deep and the time not lost ! More then 5000 rows of source code rewriten.

P.S. Forget to say something important my reworked Video driver not complete in 720P. Driver work's too fast and causes the glitches of desktop overlay (interferention effect), so my GPU driver included only in 1080P kernel's later I'll make it work stable and I'll release 720P kernel pack with +30% GPU speed, but later.

To clarify.... This will not be a Finless "only" ROM. It will be a TEAM ROM. It is a FreakTab 1.7 "Dev Team" ROM. I cannot call it all mine as a Finless ROM.

Nik has put in a TON more work than I on this with the kernels. Something I cannot do as I am not talented enough to build kernels yet (I plan to learn). So the "heart" of this ROM is 2dark4u's kernels. Without his work, much would not be possible! So thank him too! The system.img is mine.
Together we worked hard for you to have the best ROM available! Well at least Nik and I think so

We are sad to say..... TRY as we might..... We could not get Bluetooth working. We will not give up though. But we feel we should no longer hold up this wonderful release by continuing to try and get BT working at this time. So maybe later with a 1.8 release along with other cool ideas we have.

So... expect the ROM soon. It will be a little more complicated to flash as we will be providing a choice of kernels and boots as Nik said above. I will document this well in the readme and explain what they do.

Sorry for the delay but when your making this many HUGE changes to a ROM, testing is very important before release to general public.

1. How do I know if I have a "good" RAM for overclocking or "bad" one? Any markings? Or I don't know until I try RAM-overclocked ROM?
2. If my RAM is "good" - do I need heatsink on it?

Only most OC kernel RAM@1332 may not work, other's tested on 4 devices, all is stable.

So my question is - should I even try the fastest kernel or it is a bad idea with my RAM chips? Is there any way to distinguish "good" from "bad" without flashing?
