Your Nextbook tablet has a ten inch display

Do the math - your tablet has a ten inch (measured diagonally) display - an eight inch, 3x4 display is about 4 3/4 wide by 6 1/2 high.

If your tablet came loaded with ICS it is probably a Nextbook Premium 10 SE. I couldn't find a spec sheet on Nextbook's website, but the specs for this tablet start on page 24 of the User's Manual - they include DDR (RAM) of 1GB, Internal Memory (NVRAM) of 8GB, and display resolution of 1024x768.

Somehow you managed to load a ROM intended for a NEXT8P12 into your tablet. Both versions of NEXT8P12 have an 8" display and 800x600 resolution - this doesn't match the resolution of your tablet, which is why it uses only part of the display.

The images prove nothing about the device's model number - they only report whatever is programmed into the ROM.

Is there a retail box that came with it? If not, it looks like someone shipped you the wrong tablet. You scored, man! What website did you order it from?

Bottom line - if the display is 8" x 6" you have a ten inch tablet. If you want an eight inch tablet, I might be willing to swap with you.

I don't need a screen shot - you already provided the screen measurements that show yours is some kind of ten inch tablet, NOT eight inch - it doesn't matter what the packaging says. You would probably do better looking for a ROM intended for a Nextbook Premium 10 SE since that would, at least, match your screen resolution.

As for your question, I have no idea - if I knew something I would have posted it already. My NEXT8P12 doesn't do this... sorry! Did you try a Google search?

Now, for the third time: would you tell me who you bought your tablet from and provide a url?

You bought it in person at an electronics market in Shenzhen? How much did you pay for it?

Maybe you have a model that is not for sale in the US. Are you in Dubai?

Hey, I was just looking around some more and found something you might be interested in. Have you tried loading this ROM yet? It is for a NEXT10P12, so it should work properly with your display resolution.

                        Bob,

Can you do anything with the generic bootloader code for the AMLogic 8726?

Is there some way to modify it to achieve root on these tablets?

Yes actually I can but the RISK IS PERMA BRICK! Anyone willing to risk a brick with a ROM I make from another device?

If you kill recovery you kill it and possibly no chance of recovery....

Nexbook really needs to release a stock ROM that I can work with! If they do SUPER EASY to give you root.... Guys PLEASE BEAT ON THEM for a stock ROM. Or I can make BEST I can a ROm that you can boot and try? But understand the RISK!

From now on lets use the thread I created here to stop confusion.
