I had the same thing happen to me the other night. I believe it was because I was only using a 1A charger and had a usb mouse plugged in and had the Gov set to performance, cfq, @1.6GHz. I think It was just trying to pull to much power. I set it @ 1GHz, OnDemand cfq Gov, and unplugged the mouse after I hit start and it ran.

I still cant get quadrant to run though.

Yup, try a different adapter. The standard one pulled some funny ones here too.
I wrote the seller an email, since a 2A charger was advertised on the **** thing and I got a 1Amp one, and this was the answer

'Actually, our factory update its PCB already,if you can know down its cover, you
can find that its PCB to be more tiny now with a comparation with our
      listing!
That is why they just change this DC charger also, the old DC charger
to be 2A,but now,its charger to be 1A,wish you can understand!

      But do not
worry, both 1A and 2A DC charger are acceptable by this device'

Well that above is ..... (read some nasty word)
I took an old 5V 2Amp adapter and connected the stick to it.... now I can benchmark the complete day probably without crashing.

Not sure what amount of amps I'm getting my mk808 seems to be getting power from to different sources.
When i have to unplug the mk808 or turn it on i have to remove the y cable that powers my externel harddrive from the tv and unplug power cable to wall. If i dont the mk808 wont turn off or on because its also being powered by the Tv. Also if i pull adapter from wall wile hdd is still pluged the green light on the wall charger stays on

Mine is like that with my 1A power adapter and then my 2.5A 7 port powered USB hub.

I just ran AnTuTu and got a 10131 score!

Havent had any issues so far. But Im running several items off that hub as well. Im not just using it for one extra port.
