    PMID701i 10 display washed out

I have been using my PMID701i 10 for a couple of months and all of a sudden the screen has "washed out". It looks like the screen is overexposed causing the black areas to be bluish gray and colors to be washed/faded out. Adjusting the brightness, resetting with the reset button and resetting to default in the settings menu has had no impact. Has anyone else seen this, and if so what did you do?

Happened with my 701c after 3 months, kind of crept up on me. Sent it back for warranty repair. 5 weeks later they sent a 701 x10 . This one seems slightly dimmer and the brightness widget will turn the screen completely black. I think they turned brightness down so that it will last beyond warranty period. Lol.

I bought it at Big Lots and it is past their return period and I don't think Polaroid will exchange it. Any suggestions?

Read the warranty on the instruction sheet. It may have changed but it is 1 year on mine. I followed the instructions, mailed it in with proof of purchase and no rma. They were a little miffed I didn't call first but I had already tried a factory reset which is what they would have stalled with. It took 5 weeks to get it back, after 2 days I couldn't stand it and bought an arnova tablet which had the usb jack break in 3 weeks. Sent that in and got a nexus 7 with extended warranty to swap at store immediately when broken.

Theres a thread here on replacement screens, but it could also be a voltage problem to the screen.

So to be polite, call support, let them walk you through a reset and whatever first.
