Alright, I have been working on this for quite a few hours. I have a Polaroid 8'' and I found the method for installing gapps, which works here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...t-market-on-it So, I have su installed currently in /system/bin, superuser.apk installed in /system/app and still have no technical root. My question is: what exactly is missing in this sort of scenario? What needs to be done in an Android OS to actually have a full root? I'm interested in getting involved in the development scene. Theoretically this is the same setup as a typical rooted phone or device. Busybox.apk is also installed in the system/app location. How do I go about figuring this out, learning to develop a root, etc? I would appreciate any information! Thank you.
