    Important Info for My Arnova ROMs - Flash the Loader

    It is coming to my attention that "some" tablets fail when after the flash, the recovery system is formatting data and cache. They either report a failure to format or do not reboot properly.

    The solution is to make sure you check the loader box in the flash tool. I cannot set that on by default but Loader 2.08 may be required. Just do it anyway. I know it works on all G2 models (except 7c).

    In RK29BatchTool versions 1.3-1.4 if we use the button "Restore" before writing to format internal memory on a low level. Maybe this will help.
    Needed for firmware image in one file - in update.img. I do ROM for ARNOVA 8G2.

      Hi Sowa, I did not know a new RKAndroid tool was out. I am still using 1.29.
      Is 1.4 in your 8 G2 ROM?

        Yes, I flashing ROM for AN8G2 with RK29BT v.1.4
        My ROM - one file update.img

          Ah OK you are using the RKBatch tool. I suppose I can do that but the reason I do not is some people may try to copy update.img to SDCard thinking it will update that way. As you know it will not. So thats why I have been using RKAdnroid tool instead as there will be no mistakes as there is no update.img.

          What loader version are you putting in the update.img package?

            Loader version 2.08 (renamed to 2.06).

            Image file name for RK29BT can be anything (such as bob-new_an10g2_1.3.img)
            If the changes are minor in the firmware, then copying update.img on the internal flashis updated according to the update-script. I use this for debugging, maintaining untouched /data

              Interesting Sowa, on the 10G2 I have never been able to flash with a EXT3 file system update.img by copying to the SDCard. On reboot it loads the firmware but then on next reboot it is bricked. EVEN if the current ROM installed is a EXT3 file system.

              Your saying if your on your EXT3 ROM and you make a new ROM you can copy to SDCard and it works?
