MK808, turning on and off via remote

    Hey,

is there any way i can turn the MK808 on after i turned it off via remote?
I got the RC11 Air Mouse from geekbuying. Turning it off works. But if i wait a few hours and want to turn it on nothing happens. If i turn it on directly after turning it off its working.

    Any ideas?

    Wake up mode

I have the same experience. I think the stick went into sleep mode after sometime. Maybe Bob can add a wake up mode in the next release of Finless ROM. Or maybe is already available just I am not aware.

I have a Rii mini i8 keyboard. I can power it on using the Ctrl+Alt+Del combo. Since I dont have a power button, I use a power switch widget to put it into sleep, its working and by pressing any key on keyboard, it turns the pc on but it freezes or reboot after a few sec.

Maybe you can try the Ctrl+Alt+Del, i read that for some, it works great as a on/off switch...If you're on Finless rom, he wrote that while in sleep mode, if you dont have a wireless connection, the device will shut itself off.

Ctrl+Alt+Del restart the device without unmount the partitions I think, so it can cause nand corruption.

What about if you power off then can the CTRL+ALT+DEL will still work. I guess I will have to try it out.

That's what I do to power it ON instead of unplugging-plugging back the the power cable. But it takes like 5-10 sec before it boot on.

After I power off unit. The RC12 air mouse cannot power on the unit using ctrl+alt+del key :-(

This is one of the things, why I use Finless ROM. It has a proper power off button on the taskbar, which powers down the device properly. Of course, after it, you will not be able to turn the device on with the keyboard.
If you can turn on with keyboard, maybe it didn't shut down, only it goes to sleep.

I dont know maybe you are right but when I power it down with power taskbar button, it shows me that it is shutting off just like my phone. But like you said, maybe it doesn't power it off completely since Im able to boot it on with my remote.

                    Hi all,

There is nothing to do with a real shutdown:

Sleep mode is a software kind of power off....just disable some functions (like hdmi output), but other funtions are still "live" (i.e. listenig to the keyboard).....on most computers you can "sleep" and "wake-up" with your keyboard....as on tv-sticks.

Power off mode is hardware related....so nothing will be alive, and nothing is "listening"...only a hardware change can wake up.....on normal computers, main power button is required.....on tv-sticks is enought with powering-on (it wakes up as receive voltage).

I thing that real shutdown / power on function is only possible by putting some interface between the tv-stick and the power supply......it will be fantastic, if you connect the tv-stick power to one of your TV / Monitor USB port, to manage this USB on/off in order to do this..... but this will be TV / Monitor related.

                    [Sorry for the block ]

You should be able to use this right (instead off pulling the plug, after (software) power off):

Even inside one of these (don't have a lot off outlets):

So you can use the rest, but power off the stick completely?

Thanks for that. Ordered what appears to be the same model 110v from ****. I like how it will completely power down the socket and then of course the device will automatically turn on when it gets power.. excellent solution.

It should be no problem in an existing power bar though right?
