    imito mx1 bricked itself

I have been using this device for 3 weeks and i was really happy with it.

I have done the official rom updates without any problem.

One day i have turned off the tv, the stick were left on and the next day it was death. I was using it with the 5v-2a power supply which was supplied with it.

I could not get any output on hdmi port. I also connected it to pc, pc does not recognize it and prompt for a device connection.

I don't know what to do it just bricked itself.

Any suggestion for unbricking it is highly appreciated.

You will need to do this proceedure.

MX1 has same shorting pad as ug802 and this will unbrick you and flash a new ROM.

Nobody has yet to reveal whether these iMito sticks (MX1 or MX2) have proper heat-sinks like the MK808. Come on! Somebody pop the case and take a snap for crying out loud!

I have taken it apart. sorry no pics but I can tell you it has NO heatsinks!
Other than the wifi chip, the board and layout is 100% like the ug802 pictures.

Today I have also tried the method that Bob suggested for MK808. I found the datasheet of the NAND from here: http://www.datasheet4u.net/download.php?id=726091

Determined the related pins and shorted them.

              Did not work for me.

I have used this method on my MX1 several times so I know it works!

Have the flash tool running. Short the PADS (they are the same ones as on the ug802) THEN plug in the USB cable WHILE shoirting the pads. It should boot into MASK ROM mode as show in the tool.

Also, you must have had the drivers installed before. If not at this time you should be able to install the drivers.

OK maybe the missing point is the driver. Tomorrow I will check once again after installing the drivers manually to win8.

But the pc does not even sense any hardware when connected during or after shorting the pads. Is it normal? I expect it to say something like hardware detected looking for drivers.

By the way thank you once again for your effort to solve the problem.

                  Mehmet

Yes your PC should BONG that some USB device was plugged in. If it does not then I fear you may have a broken USB port inside the unit (very common) or it is dead.

                      Try this

                      Hi,

I saw a new method described in here: http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechfo...php?f=76&t=502 Look for enviro8's message. Actually it is for failed rom updates, but may be it can be usefull for you too.

Since I sent my MX1 back to GeekBuying, I could not have a chance to try.

                      Good luck
