TV streaming over LAN instead of 3G/WIFI

Hi All,
I'm on Finless 1.7 now but not sure if thats relevant to my question.

In the UK there are TV player apps like ITV player and also one called TVCatchup.

I have my UG802 hooked up via LAN and whenever I try to run these apps, there is always a prompt telling me I need to switch in WIFI/3G as if I'm perhaps on a Galaxy SIII etc.

Is there any possiblity to fool the UG802 that its on WIFI even if its on LAN?

Kind of annoying that I can't make full use of the fact I have a hard wired connection

Search for Wifi Tethering, google play is a good place to look.
You can emulate a wifi connection with another android device. The question of emulating wifi/3g connection on one android device has been ask before (not here) and I believe you can simulate a newtork connection, but not what type.
