    unable to flash PMD701i 10

Hi everyone, I've been surfing around the forums for awhile and have gained a lot of knowledge and got my tablet to do a lot of different things from what I have read here, but I can't get the crazy thing to flash the firmware.

Here is what I have tried so far:

Livesuite V1.0.7 from Southern Telecom website

    Livesuite V1.0.7 from Onada site

    Windows 7 and Windows XP

installed and re-installed drivers on both OS's.

When I go thru the steps, I get to where Livesuite tells you how to enter flash mode. I hit finish. Hold the Menu button in, plug the usb in, press power button 3 times, press home button, then release menu button Livesuite then answers with a blank box with an OK button and a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. I click ok, the Livesuite progress box looses the image path and it just sits there.

I have also tried this on 3 diffrent laptops.

    What am I missing?

    thanks in advance.

First, a few questions. When you're not in flash mode, do your computers see the external drives when you turn on USB storage? That would verify the physical USB connection. Also, you say "I click ok, the Livesuite progress box looses the image path and it just sits there." and I'm interested to know what you mean. when you say it loses the image path, what do you mean.? Mine looks like this:

Name:	Untitled.jpg

Size:	33.7 KB

Second, does your O.S. recognize the tablet or does it say something like 'this device could perform faster...'? This may indicate the drivers aren't installed correctly (or could be for the wrong device) or perhaps the USB chip has problems on the computer(s) themselves (unlikely, given the fact you've tried more than one computer).

Same exact window. Where yours says "C:\Kitchen" mine would have the path to the image. When I click the OK button, the path blanks out.

Here is what I see when I plug the tablet in and do the button sequence.

Size:	52.7 KB

And this is what happens when I click ok.

I was following what I read here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...4-Onda-s-4-0-4 which I read as the 701i model needing the V5 version.

          I'll try it with both.

huh. never noticed that-you're right. have you tried just reflashing the stock first, just to make sure you have the process down?

Just wanted to check back in and say thanks for the help. Not sure what I did wrong compared to what I'm doing right, but it works now. I actually loaded the Elektrik rom on it last night.

              thanks again.
