Mounting another drive to extend the app storage?

Is there a way to mount an external drive as /sdcard/ to extend the available space for apps (with MX1)?
I am trying to make directory bind app working but the results are not what I expect.

edit: I just realized that I completely butchered the post by implying I want to use it as external storage instead of /sdcard/. I minimized the NAND storage and want to use different drive as /sdcard/ for apps instead of it.

until you find the solution you can mount shared windows drives from your network (pc or laptop) with 'cifs manager' app from play store

I installed the new MX1 ROM with the 6GB parameter, which leaves only a small partition as the internal SD/NAND flash. I am now trying to mount the external SD as an internal SD card to maximize the storage.

In an attempt to do it, I modified a script from XDA for swapping the external SD and internal storages. Everyone is certainly welcome to use it, it does work a bit, not flawlessly though

It only mounts the external card to the nand flash, (and it seems to mount both SD's together). Most apps seem to be OK with it, but I am having trouble with GTA VC.

My linux/android knowledge is close to zero so any tips to fix it or make it run better are more than welcome.

      CAREFUL, read above
I imported it and set it to run after boot via ROM Toolbox, I can't seem to be able to get it to run automatically as init.d

I used Mount Manager to mount my SMB share on my UG802 as a local drive. A few days later I noticed my network server's HDD's was always doing something and performance on my UG802 seemed a little flaky. Finally traced it down to the UG802 trying to index my music collection, only took it a week.
