Does anyone have or know where to get a rom or firmware for PMID 1000D. The firmware on the support site is corrupt.

I just got off the phone with customer support, and they verified that the PMID1000 and the 1000D have the same hardware configuration. I have been able to download a non-corrupt PMID1000 firmware and am flashing this weekend.

          PMID 1000D Info and Quesions

          Hello to all Readers...

I am assuming I can add comments to this Thread that is NOT specific to the ROM

          If Not Please move it...
          =======================================
Now that all being said ...

I found a nice external Wireless Keyboard for the Tablet... Logitech K400 (do a google image search)
it is 14" long 5.5" deep and .75" tall... that is Keyboard with Mouse touch Pad...

It comes with a Range Extender for up to 33 feet (I do not use it)

Turn off your tablet, plug in dongle, turn off keyboard (Yes it has a ON/OFF switch)
Fire off Tab, turn on Keyboard and off you go...
MousePad and Keyboard work like a charm...

When your done ... shut down tablet and unplug and turn off keyboard...
Re-Start and your back to screen touch keyboard ....

Now I do plug in the HDMI to the TV (720p) and set on the couch to control Youtube etc..
          ================================================== =======
Now to the Subject of Wifi ....
I did set it to Static IP... and had to change Router Channel as I had 6 others on Channel 11...

Use Wifi Analyzer and walk around your house ... I personally use "Net Stumbler" on a Laptop ...

Next is Stalling of the System...
I have tried Set-CPU but to no avail... I did notice a wide Range of CPU speed ... which I figure
          is for Battery life...

** I will add to this later but currently a Storm is on top of us... (Hail Storm)

Battery Life is about 5 hours (Watching Videos and Reading this Forum)

On the Stalling of the System ....
I find if I let it boot up and give it a minute to stabilize it works best....
I have MX Player (Video Player) it comes up with a lot of wait to play ...
I use MyInternet (Private Browser) that stalls a lot ...

I do have "Google Play" installed and it works great ... I can buy after setting up a Google Wallet and
setting a Pin number on the tablet...

So anyone actually got there 1000D humming alone ... How about a Post of what you did ....

Next If anyone needs a link to anything I Posted then Post a Reply or eMail and I will fix it ...

PMID1000 Firmware will not pass Checksum

            Hi to all Readers...

I just downloaded the PMID1000 Firmware that "mthous01" was telling about...

Scanned the File and tested the Zip .... All OKay...

Problem is it will not pass the MD5 CheckSum....

Note that PMID 1000, 1000B, 1000D, 900.... all have the same Checksum number..

While I am not positive I would think different file sizes would have different Checksum's..

YES I did unzip and tested the .img file against the Checksum and it did not pass...

Any idea's what the issue is...

            Thanks
            Ed

If you try to talk to anyone at customer service, you can tell they're having some problems with these. The checksums are all wrong, and I can't get level 2 support to five me a straight answer. Don't user 1000b as it is different hardware. At least the 1000 software is working on the 1000d

Thanks "mthous01" for the reply ....
                I was thinking I had made a mistake ...
You can forget talking to Customer Service ... They seem to be in another country...
                Again Thanks for this info...
I am heading to the other Thread where you talked about using Supersu, SetCPU & PimpmyRom
on a PMID1000D and see what you said about that...

                    Hi "ELEKTRIK"

I have been watching Your Thread about [Experimental] Mod. Firmwire 1000D...
While I know you do not have a PMID1000D so you are unable to tweak the OS...
and I understand that.... I will be watching to see if anyone had any luck getting the lag
                    out of the OS...
All that have installed it, have had good results except for the Lagging...

I am finding that Android ICS (Linux) does not Cleanup behind itself which means a large amount
of Cache files and Programs Running that do not need to be .....
So to help I am using ES Task Manager to clean up Caches...
and a app to kill most running programs (name escapes me know)

Yes I know that they do not recommend doing it this way... But they are probably using
                    a $400 Tablet ...hehehe

I am turning off all the Sync's (I have 4 emails) and contacts etc... Which I just though
                    of while writing YOU...

As you know if this was Ubuntu the OS cleans up all this behind the scene....

As to cache cleaning, I have found the app "App Cache Cleaner" to be useful, as the timeframe between cleanings can be set (I used 1 hour, could be further apart assuming less use.)

For apps being killed, I use AutoKiller Memory Manager to tweak my minfrees. I usually use optimum or aggressive preset, which usually allows for better memory management without using an appkiller, which can cause issues.

For the latter, in order to reset the minfrees at each reboot, it uses an init.d script. This functionality can be used along with PimpMyRom. The only other items I used in PMR was to adjust wifi a bit (which I can't seem to tell if it helped or not) and to change my primary boot animation, as I don't like the one that came with the tablet. I'm sure there are other items that can help, just read into what each does, and determine if it's worth losing your current setup, as flashing the .img file is a pain to get back to where you were. SetCPU seemed to help only if I changed the governor to interactive from the default "Fantasy". I could get my PMID1000D to run with stability at 1100MHZ (or around that, as I don't have the tablet in front of me), but I can't seem to get the heat to be low enough to make me comfortable. I'm considering modding the case to add cooling (small, low profile fan with a finger guard). Not sure yet.

Hi "mthous01" and all other readers....

A very Big Thanks for the hints... I will sure be working on these...

While you did not say... I assume all these Hints work on the Stock Firmware.??

On the "init.d Script" how about alot more detail... Something you wrote, something you found..

On the changing the Boot animation (Orange Swirls.?) did you have to have something
else or did away with it entirely... ??
                        =================================================
I did TURN OFF all my email/contact Sync. and it made a big difference for me...
I did have 4 email accounts with Sync turned on...
As you know all you have to do is trigger the app and it will sync at that time....

                        Again Thanks

init.d support isn't in any stock ROM (that I've seen)-it has to be added.

PimpMyRom will add init.d support to almost any ROM with root access, which the 1000/1000D Stock Rom and electrik's Rom both have. The apps I posted about previously, among others, will create scripts automatically in the init.d folder which will be run on boot. I used to clean up my SQL3 database each boot on my old Droid Charge, which helped keep it running smooth.
