...And that's why I love my wife (besides other reasons)
Me: Ooh. Polaroid's coming out with a pretty new dual core tablet-I may have to take you up on your offer to let me spend $$ on technology if/when it comes out lol
My Wife: U totally should! You haven't bought yourself anything new for a long time.

Well I hope both have IPS screens as I now have a Ainol Novo Auroa7 and the LED/IPS screen on this thing looks amazing and it doesn't have the resolution the new M series tablets do, though they make a newer version that does.
I'd do another Polaroid to get better resolution and IPS, plus at least dual core, wonder if Big Lots will carry these when they become available.
I got this one on **** for 130 shipped and if Polaroid can do similar or better for close to that they have a real winner coming out in these two units.

Not completely sure on the 1.5 Ghz but that seems in line with the latest dual core A9 tabs.
I find it amazing how some reviewers think these are the first Polaroid brand Tabs and how they compare these to Tabs that cost twice as much or more as if price made no difference, saying the screen res is not as good. My 15.6 laptop is 1366 x 768 I'm happy with it my 10.1 netbook is 1024x600 it's fine too My Polaroid 10c is 1024x600 is good. We know prices will come down I am content to wait a bit, others rush to pay full price.

This one is 1024x600 and looks awesome, small text is very sharp and videos look great with a huge veiwing angle. Their newer Fire is like 1280x800 or whatever most of the top end 7" tablets use now. I think this one is dual core, not positive, but the II version is definetly a 1.5 mhz dual core. Even better res with at least dual core in this size would be that much better. SO if the new M series even comes close they are going to have one of the best bang for buck options out there. that new Fire goes for about 180 shipped so can't afford one right now, when you can find one.

I'm figuring on getting a new tablet as soon as the government gets off its butt and sends me my tax refund, I'll probably go after an 9-10 inch Allwinner A31 based quad core tablet. I've been looking and the Onda folks have a couple that look pretty good, and thats the way I'm leaning right now. The reason: the Onda's have 2 gigs of ram, vs the 1 gig in the M10, yeah they are about 20 bucks more, but I think that extra gig of ram should make a difference when it comes to performance of the tablet...
I've seen a few of them with the Retina IPS 2048*1536 display, but I'm sure about it yet, here's the onda V972
Onda V972 Quad Core 9.7 Inch Retina Screen RAM 2GB Daul Camera Android Tablet PC 16GB - Buy ProductsOnda V972 Quad Core is the first Allwinner A31 Quad Core Onda Android Tablet.Onda V972 Quad Core adopt A31 Quad Core CPU and 8 Core Power VR SGX544MP2 GPU,can perfect support 3D Games.Onda V972 configured a 9.7 inch Retina IPS screen.
I haven't bought anything from these people, so its not an endorsement just a link for info

This tab does not have Bluetooth and does not state whether it has HDMI, though the pics show what looks like one. I have seen a few pre-orders for retina 9.7 tabs like this not sure about the run-time claims

If I could get the same internal hardware with a screen running 1280x800 I would be happy, and battery life would be pretty good too. Also with the A31's as of right now there is no Linux support, so that might hurt development, but the dual core A20's have linux support.

I have a Onda 4.3 PMP that was the very first Tablet like device I ever owned, very nice build quality and screen for it's size but can't play 1080p without issues so I started buying more powerful tablets instead.
The web site you posted has a questions section for the new 972 and this is what they answered about HDMI out
Onda Tablet:
Thank you for your mail.
Onda V972 Quad Core is build in HDMI port, support HDMI output.
So sounds like it has HDMI somewhere so could be a great choice if that's the size you want, they also state is has a 8000ma battery if that helps anyone.
No matter what it sounds like everyone is ramping up quad core retina style display units to play in the same league as apple so we all might be getting some really good and reasonably priced toys soon

I was looking forward to this also, but then I saw the Nextbook Android 4.1 NEXT7D12R for the same price (129-139) that is available now (on evilbay and am azon).
(Also, the NEXT7D12F (ICS 4.0) is at am azon for $108 and Fulfilled by Am azon.)
They seem to be nearly identical...???
What do you guys think? Any opinions as to which is better?Polaroid S8
