    New MK808 Stock ROM Available!

Geekbuying Emailed me today and told me a new stock ROM just came out for the MK808 (Not the clone or B version).

I have not had time to look at it but here is what they say:

"It fix the problem for no blue led light when you connect with the charger, or it has no signal on your TV."

    Get the ROM here:

HI guys: We just get the newest firmware from factory. this is for the original MK808, not for the clone ones, and not for the mk808b. It fix the problem […]

Now my 1.6 ROM I am sure will still be "generally" better than this stock ROM but the kernel might fix and improve some things so I am going to try to make a BETA release for those willing to help test things.

        Hi Bob,

I just installed onto my MK808. Seems OK. Similar to original ROM.

Btw, do you know which YouTube client Geekbuying are using? I kinda like it, but cannot find it on PlayStore...

Oh, and they have added a screen capture button which is pretty cool... although a power button would probably have been good too!

        Thanks!

So what I really want to know is does this fix anything? I would not want to port my ROM all over again just for nothing important?

Thanks for trying it! I really want to know if it fixes or solves anything. I do not have the time to put the stock ROM through the ringer. sorry...

Some footage of the new Geekbuying ROM here. I've not really found anything major with it (lack of soft shutdown button is always worrying though!):

OK I am confused... New geek buying ROM or my 1.6? Your video is not that clear?

              Thanks and cool video!

Hi Bob - your ROM was all good. Was just making comment that it was a shame that the Geekbuying ROM did not have a power off button. I don't think it fixes anything. I did note that the Omegamoon kernel seemed to make the stick higher resolution though. However, I've been using your ROM mostly recently. Will let you know if I switch back to the Stock ROM and notice anything.

Btw, I've listed a few things that would be good to fix in general at the bottom of the blog posting for XBMC: http://www.minitvstick.com/blog/xbmc-whats-that/

I think the stick would be perfect once the lip synching was good for videos. Not sure if you see it as well. This seems to be an issue in all the ROMs I have tried so far though so guessing it is a driver issue. Glad you enjoyed the vid

XBMC is pretty awesome -> best discovery so far for 2013!

Where did you buy it? Considering Geekbuying links to Finless 1.6 on their support blog, I doubt they'll have a problem. But yes, flashing to factory ROM should make it look fresh.
