MX1 sleep mode / turn screen off

I do not want to turn my device off I just want it to sleep when not in use like my phone. There is no options for that in the display settings, I have also tried playing with the value of "ro.rk.screenoff_time" in the build.prop file with no success.

I need this because:
1. I am using a plasma and want to prevent burn ins.
2. I am using live wallpapers, and I want to prevent the device from doing work 24/7.

Is sleep mode or turning the screen off possible?

Stay tuned. Petrus has an APP in testing right now that will give you total control of screen off. You can set a time of day to turn off or on as well as a count down timer.

It is being tested now.

The screen standby lite APP probably wont work. This has to control HDMI out not a tablet screen backlight.

My thinking was that if there is no signal on the HDMI the TV should have power setting where it goes to stand by as well after preset period of time.

Yes but that is the problem. They disabled screen sleep in the ROM so HDMI output is never turned off unless you power down the unit. This APP being tested will shut off HDMI output.

Thanks for your responses. Screen stand by does work, however you need to push the power button to wake the device up, which I can't do and have to restart the device. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Petrus app.

l bought a measy r12 which comes with a power button. I use it to push iMito MX1 to sleep and wake up. Only problem is that wake up time is variable, but it does work every time.

Can someone with the R12 map the action on the power button press so maybe we can remap to other devices? I know there is a key mapping app linked here. Just a thought

Sorry if this has been thought of, but couldn't you just switch the TV to another unused input? Most TVs will go to standby mode with no i/p after a while.

The only reason an Android phone goes to sleep is to save battery power. As these devices don't have batteries there really is no point. Mine's been on 24/7 now for several weeks with no ill effects. I just switch the TV to normal mode or stby if I'm not using my MX1.

Hmm the power button on the RC 11 doesn't do anything

I have the RC11 and the power button works. Only problem is Wi-Fi. I need to turn it OFF and ON to get a signal every time the device wake up.
