USB to LAN adapter some apps will not see it as WIFI substitution

I'm running Bob's excellent 1.5 Finless ROM and noticed several problems using wired LAN instead of WIFI
1. LAN connection has to be disable and re-enabled on reboot to get it working
2. Some apps like Samba File sharing will not scan for printer on network since WIFI is disabled.
Is there any way to cheat it and get it working?

I have the same issues as well. I am thinking about changing usb hub or/and adapter.

I think those apps detect that the wifi adapter is disabled and. That's why they don't work properly.

So is it OK to do that? You plug the hub into a USB power adaptor? Can you use a 2 amp power adaptor too?... and the TV stick can plug into one of the hub ports in all of these examples
