Would this mode be the same on a Minix Neo G4 I brick it tiring to downgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.0.4 it failed at line downloading IDB, now my windows 8 pc or my windows 7 laptop can't see the device in device manager the blue is on but nothing happens when I connect it....

Give me some time and I will take it apart and have a look inside to see if there is a MASK ROM mode short pads.
You did try the reset pin hole correct? That is hold the reset button in the pin hole and while holding it plug in OTG cable. If needed press the power button while holding it.

The right way is:
- Connect power and OTG cable.
- Press and hold reset button in the pin hole.
- Press power button about 2 sec. until blue LED goes on.
- Now wait 2 sec. until PC makes connection sound or/and batch-tool or flash-tool says "connected".
- let go of die reset button.

Thanks for your help... I've tried the recover button with the pin while connecting the otg cable on a couple of machines but nothing happens as for a power button this is a neo G4 so it doesn't have one...Comment

Do you think that this is also true for our G4 and X5 (same NAND Flash Memory 29F64G08CBAAA) to?
However, I doubt the theory with pin 29 and 30 because those are loud datasheet I/O-data pins.
I guess after, it would be either the pin 7 to 8 or 8 to 9?
What are your findings so far?
Would be nice if we could help the poor guys!

I still have not looked at this yet. But as long as you do not short pin 1 or last pin, it wont blow up anything.
Again I need a little time please. You will know you have shorted correct pins when ROM FLASH tool says "mask ROM".

For my self program microcontrollers (ATMEL Xmega).
An X5 test unit would not bad. No fun to destroy my unit!
This would be € 140 for the ass!
