Making my X5 ROM

Wow guys, I am making a rooted ROM for you all based on the latest ROM from Minix (Jan 2013).

There is not much really do do here other than remove the bloat and root it.

I see the kernel already has xpad.ko, md4.ko, tun.ko etc in it already. Also seems to have all the XML patches for Gplay.

Gameloft patch also appears to be in the ROM. I do not have Asphalt 7 so can someone confirm is this works? e.g. it will install?
Is anyone else not able to install other gameloft stuff?

OK I will apply the gameloft patch and see if it fixes them.

Bob can you apply some tweaks like v6 and some build.prop tweaks for faster streaming.

Yes I will enable init.d so you can install V6. And count on some tweaks. I am still trying to fix some gameloft games like wonder zoo...

And how will you present the package as a .img for batchtool or .zip for cwm

Just want to know what recovery I should have on the x5. keep up the great work!

It will be a update.img that can be flashed from SDcard or usiing RKbatch tool. There is no need for me to change the partitioning of NAND on this unit since they already give you plenty of APP space unlike every TV stoick out there . So no need to force using a flash tool.

I can also make a package that uses my RK Android tool 1.35 so you can flash parts of the ROM thus leaving your CWM recovery intact.

Which would you all prefer?

I think leaving cwm would be good if we had tons of roms but its just you and 1 other so far. He uses cwm flashing which is nice for backing up the images but what ever you want to do bud.

Would be nice to have a unlocked appstore so I could install Modern Combat , NOVA 3, and other games that don't recognize the x5

If you want them badly you could dl them on another device and back up the apk file then transfer it over to x5 profit.

I downloaded ashphalt 7 heat but it keeps saying network error plus how would we play a touch/accel game on x5

Games using touch can be played with Droidmote + a tablet.

I tried copying the .apk from another device, but since the games require additional data, I still need to trick their servers into thinking I have a different device so I can download the game data files.

Nova 3 and MC zero hour install but mc doesnt work it just keeps going to my home screen.. but mc 3 works with very minor lag which thats a fun game if my damn brain can figure out how to get a controller like six axis to work..

Are you running stock firmware or have you flashed a different ROM on it?

Nova 3 and MC3 will not show in the app store for me, when I open them via browser and try to install I get an Error (942). When I transfer the .apk manually and try to DL the data Nova 3 tells me my device is incompatible and to get a refund.

I believe it was posted on the first or second page but there is an english forum called MinixForums, you may be able to find help there. We recently had a thread on using a PS3 controller.

And I have the ps3 remote working just not they way I see in videos..

Not I didnt mod my build.prop on my forum many say it wont work and others say it does work so something is goofy are you located in the us? Maybe reigon has something to do with it..?
