    Is my UG802 Dead ?

    HI
at first when i have started the UG802 i have noticed a blue led which probably mean that the stick is powered on
tried reseting the power couple of times and now i am not even seeing the blue led and i am seeing no signal input on the monitor … any ideas what i can try ?

when i connect the stick to the PC (without connecting the 2 pins inside it) i get a message " usb device not recognised , one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows cannot recognise it "
does this means it is faulty ?

is there a way i can revive it

here is the picture of the 2 pins (4 pins in my device ?!?!)

has anyone been able to get this device into recovery ?
no matter what i try it always says device not detected (malfunctioned)
except when i try the 1 and 2 pin on the nandchip (and 2 more combinations i think) it doesn't say anything

    i am out of ideas
my device is useless to me in this condition

    any help is appreciated

    btw the motherboard is HTC-T002-V1

Your PCB is green :\ it should be blue! :S (if im correct)
It looks like one fake device. Some capacitors are missing as I see, and there should be 2 points only.
Try to send it back for warranty. I might be wrong so try to get more opinions

And search the topics before open a new Send your question into the "Clone UG802" topic.

It looks quite similar to my version which I bricked the same way you did

You need to shorten the pins a little longer so Windows will install the drivers. I right-clicked the .inf-file in Win XP and choose "install" so the drivers are pre-installed already.

I can get the stick into mask rom mode quite reliably when shorting those pins and then connect usb. If I shorten the pins too shortly, this doesn't work though. All I can do is erase flash and reflash a ROM. After that, there is no signal on the display, it doesn't boot properly anymore.

Maybe it is some static discharge that occured during handling the stick, maybe some part not beeing soldered correctly on the PCB. It's hard to tell with these tiny SMD parts to see if they are soldered correctly. This can only be done by a Pro, I think. Using an oscilloscope should show if the signals are correct on the pins, and that is quite some work.

I just ordered a new unit a few hours ago at DX, hoping it will arrive soon (chinese New Year starts soon and that means 4 weeks no proper china post ...).

listen man if you have something smart to say , say it, but don't just post stupid "answers"

i think i tried to short every combination between those pins
no matter if i bridge them or not still i am seeing "usb device not recognised"
and yes i have preinstalled the driver and it appears as RK30 device but windows cannot communicate with the device probably becouse it is not into flash mode

i think there is some different combination with this device to erase the nand but i don't know what to try

if i connect the first 2 and the last 2 on the nandchip i am not seeing "usb device not recognised" but nothing happens

microusb should be fine since "usb device not recognised" is gone when i short some pins on the nandchip

i need to know who has the same stick and how did he flashed firmware ?
          again the board is HTC-T002-V1

btw the stick is ordered from MP4nations and it came with jellybean 4.1 installed

Be kind, kisist is trying to help!

Did you try connecting to different USB ports on your computer? Use the ones directly on the mainboard; front USB ports are usually connected with bad cables and don't deliver enough power and unclean signals.

i am trying it on the laptop
all ports should be part of the motherboard i think but i will try another one

btw what happens with your device when you conect it to the PC ? does it detects something (without touching the pins ofcourse)

can i try to put update.img on a sdcard and flash that way ?
              or any other way

You can try to short the nanad 8 and 9 pin to put ug802 to mask rom mode. The 8 and 9 pins are on the hdmi side. If you need pic, just let me know.

tried it bro (tried them all) and nothing
and all ended with me braking it

i am expecting UG007 2 with reset button now (is there any community here for it , roms and stuff?)

                  my advice to anyone
don't buy tv stick without a button (if you are lucky like me you won't put it into flash mode)
