Here is my MK808! I just finished this today. Not too bad I think.
It is a WesternDigital MyBook with the 500GB SATA HDD replaced with a 160GB laptop SATA HDD, removed the original antennas and replaced with a Zoom GamePoint 4420's external antennas, and an 8 port powered USB hub.
The actual MK808 has the case removed inside and I replaced the CPU heatsink with some GPU vRAM heatsinks.
The cable you see coming out of the side is a 6FT HDMI

Thats awesome, good job. Now the two wifi antennas are they both hooked up and hows that working for wifi signal?
Any photos showing the inside?
Here a few internals. Also, yes the new antennas work great! A lot better signal strength and haven't dropped at all. (Also sorry for the rotated image. I rotated it on my computer and then when it uploaded it reverted.)
Looks good on the inside too. Is that a internal fan I see? Also does that MK808 have dual antenna or is that something you added. I have a imito mx1 and would love to have a dual antenna setup.
Great job on the over all project, gives us all a look in to an alternative setup then a little stick

Dual antenna is standard on the 808, but its a cheap little set of wires and sticky pads so they are constantly breaking if you open your stock case a lot.
As for the fan, no. I was planning to add one, but Im not sure if it will actually need it. There is plenty of breathing room inside and the case is ventilated on 3 sides. I haven't really had a chance to play with it too much yet.
I did notice when I had it on the screen would go black for a second and come back. Not sure if its the HDMI adapter, cable, or just the ROM needing an update. I haven't updated to Bobs 1.6 yet, and yesterday was the first I turned on the mk808 since December.

Ok keep us posted how things go with this setup. I consider doing something similar for my mx1.
If I remember right, doesn't the mx1/2 use the whole case as a heatsink? I would think that building your own case with breathing room and a dedicated heatsink would help a lot.

amazing! can you tell us how you power the hard drive and the hub
Unfortunately the HDD, hub, and the MK808 are powered separately. I did want an all-in-one solution but due to different power requirements they had to stay that way. The thing that bothers me most is that I couldn't make the USB connection for the HDD internal. I have to connect it from the external USB port to the hub, so it looks dorky. The reason for that is there were to many small parts on the power board near the HDD USB port. If I had tried to re-solder it would have more than likely broke. So its not as "pretty" as my pictures make it look, but it still is a lot less of a mess then before. Plus easier to carry around.
I am thinking of scrapping this and rebuilding something different. A different case would make it easier to fix the issues mentioned above.
Still I am overall happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for sharing your nice mod. Could you please tell/show how you made the new antenna connections.
A close-up pic would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
