juddery video xbmc 720p? anyone else having problems

I saw on here some people got hardware accelerated video to work on some recent builds of xbmc. today when i updated from xbmc frodo rc3 to frodo 12.0, 720p video has just gotten worse. from a little jump every 10 seconds, to just being unwatchable now.

anyone else had this problem, or those of you who have it working, how did you manage it?

Couple of things which are important.

How is your wifi strength on the device and what sort of data throughput do you get?
You can test this a little bit if you have a nice internet connection and download the speednet test tool.
If you get download figures of 10000 and up you should be safe.
Another way to to check if it is wifi or not is to copy the file locally on the device and play it that way.

I have serious issues with 1080P AND 720P which are high bitrate. This thing just doesn't handle that well.
The videocamera files that I created in 720P and which are about 1 hour long resulted in a file size of approx 1GB. No issues with that one. But compressed with a lot higher bitrate ... 6GB in total for an hour of video resulted in lost frames buffering etc
Probably the same at 1080P but not recompressing my 720P recorded clips because of no use.

Another thing is the version of XBMC. Which one are you using? Can you post the filename since there are HW accel versions and .. others

Not sure if that official version has HW acceleration working.
I posted a link somewhere on this board with a URL to test builds. Some of them do not have the acceleration switched on.

As far as I know, the official verson does suport HW acceleration
          suppose the device is Neon.

MK808 hardware is capable of running 720p, even some 1080p mkv videos.

However, XBMC Android developement has not reached that far yet and does NOT support hardware acceleration for many devices.

Solution for now is to use MX Video Player + Solid Explorer if you wanna stream videos from your pc.

Sadly MX sometimes fails to attach the included subs with the video, and VLC doesn't work when hardware acceleration is enabled on it yet!

Its just a question of time!

            MINI TUTORIAL:
            1. Have MX Video Player installed.
            2. Share desired folders on PC and make sure wifi signal is strong.
            3. Solid Explorer > Jump to > Network > SMB (windows file sharing.) > select your movie.
            4. Enable hardware acceleration in MX if it isnt enabled. Enjoy!
Fan of Finless rom for MK808!
