what system file should be on external drive?

    Hi there.

Currently I have NTFS on my external drive and, surprisingly, it seems to work quite well on my mk808. Don't exactly know how, because as I heard android doesn't cooperate with NTFS. Well I can run movies diectly from external drive (connected to mk808), even those HD that have about 10 GB and this seems to work.
The problem, however, appeared when I installed torrent app. It works, but when I try to add any file bigger than 4gbs to my download queue, it pops up a notification saying I can't do that. My question is then, what's going on? Why am I able to read HD movies from NTFS external drive, but not being able to download such a files to that drive? And how it is capable of reading NTFS in the first place??

    Thanks for remarks.

And how exactly do you do that mate? and could you check what file system you have, so I could know what format it applies at default?

Apparently I was wrong about android not supporting NTFS. It turns out that all versions >4 have built in compability with that format. But still, don't have a clue why I can't download files bigger than 4gb to my drive directly on android..

Even though it supports NTFS the layer above in Android does not know this so the restriction of 4gb is still there as though it thinks it is still fat32.. They need to fix that as it is a bug in my opinion.

Thanks for dropping a word Bob. Quite strange issue.. I'm wondering now, if there is something I can do to bypass this situation? I'd prefer not to format my drive with other file system - it's almost completely full of movies and stuff and I would have difficulties with backuping the data on my half smaller laptop drive. On the top of that, I sometimes connect my drive to my windows based laptop, and there doesn't seem to be any other file system that get along with both platforms..
