    Sideloading Google Play on Next7P12SE

    I have a:
Next7P12 w/out pinhole and AMLogic chip. Currently the only way to root is with a 3g dongle.

    My tablet stats:

    Model: Next7P12
    Android Version: 4.0.4
    Kernel Version: 2.6.34 amlogic@droid #65
    Sat Sep 15 07:22:54 CST 2012
    Build number: V1.0.5.IMM76I.eng.root.20120915

    Processor 1 ghz
    Memory 512 mg
    Storage 4 gig

    I found these links:

I followed these guides now needs help finishing. My tablet added the google account login to the accounts in settings. I am able to log my tablet into my google account. The Market version is the old Android version and lets me log in as well. When I go to Google Play online and check my devices under setting, my tablet is listed. My tablet will automatically log me into my google account for Google Books and I can add books from Google Play online. I installed Google Play Services and Youtube and that allows autologs me into my Youtube account.

I When I start my tablet, the Market icon for updates appears. When i click it the for the first time, I get "Market has stopped working" error. I then can go back in and it will let me browse apps and see apps installed on my tablet. When I try to download, I get "Market stopped working again error" and Market restarts. I can then go to updates in Market and click to download updates but it just sits there forever trying to download.

Checking Google Play Help stated this happens when Talk is not installed so I went to install Talk only to find out that Talk needs these APKs to work:

    Gtalkservice
    Talkprovider

They must be installed in a certain order and be the right version for your version of Android. This is where I am having issues. I don't know where to five the right versions for my tablet. I do apk searches on the net and find tons of these files. I found a few Talk apks that will load but they are the older versions. The newer versions I can't find that will load on my tablet. I get a "Application Not Installed" error. The framework and onetime apks were random ones I found on the internet so I don't know if they are causing issues. One website said that mixing different versions of androp gapps could cause problems.

Where do find the right APKs for my version of android? In total I need:

    Onetimeinitiailizer
    Googleservicesframework
    Setupwizard
    Books
    Google Play Service
    Youtube
    Gtalkservice
    Talkprovider
    Talk
Market (or vending or phonesky. Google has changed the name several times.)

I would prefer a Market that was pre-Talk (before it became dependent on Talk). Can anyone help me or tell me where to find these files for my version of Android. Or if you have other suggestions, please let me know.

I have the Next7P12-8G (IMM76I.v005, Oct 23 2012), there are 28 modules that I can give you to port over to the Next7P12-4G seems you have an older build 1.0.5 which seems even older then my Next8P12-4G which has V1.0.6 Sep 17th, but which I ported the 28 modules (although I have root on it), and the Play store works great, did have to do a factory reset as the older method (market) conflicted with the newer Play Store...

But if you wish to try it is 45M not sure how to post it, but if you can come up with a place PM me an I will upload it to have you try it.

Re: Sideloading Google Play on Next7P12SE

I received the files. I restored the tablet to stock and installed all the files.

I was able to quickly set up my Google account. YouTube, Google Books, Talk, Google+, and maps all auto sign in using my google account. I can download books, chat and see my channels. Play store sees the tablet online in my play store settings. But...

Play Store still does not work. The tablet sees I need up dates but I get error "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped" when ever I try to access the store. Any ideas?

I have not rooted my Next7P12-8G yet, but maybe it needs the other supporting files (system.tar)? I can only guess, but when I installed these same files under /system/app on my Next8P12-4G (which is rooted and did a factory reset), it worked, now either the other system files are needed, or side loading is not what it wants?

There is another Next8P12 that was rooted by OtaconEmmerich, and he posted his image (which is newer then my Next8P12), you could grab that image, but until you root your device we will not know if it is side loading or another issue.

Re: Sideloading Google Play on Next7P12SE

So this morning I installed Google Play Services and restarted. The tablet booted up saying I needed updates. I opened google play, browsed the apps, and picked a small one to download. It went through the while process of what device, ect., then said it would update shortly. The tablet showed the update icon in the task bar then showed the error again. Now it won't open again. Now, the version of Services I have is older so I'm looking for a newer version to try.

Sadly, without root, I can't drop anything in the system folder. It seems like I am almost there but am missing something.
          Any ideas?

Re: Sideloading Google Play on Next7P12SE

So used the newest version of Play Services with Google Play 3.10.10 . I am allowed to access the Play Store. My device shows up in Google Play settings. I can browse and when I choose an app, it goes through the process of selecting device, ect. The problem happens when I actually tell it to update or download. I get the Play Store has stopped working error and it closes down. Then it won't open up again till I clear cache and data. Then it will open again, let me browse till I try to download and I get the error again. Repeat, wash, and rinse. Nothing ever downloads.

            Ideas?

My solution, you won't like it?

Factory Default, then attempt again... When I was messing with the older Market/Services, then upgraded to the newer Play Store, I had issues, until I copied all to /system/app then factory reset and it worked...

Each time you update to a newer module, factory reset and start only with the newer modules?

So if it does not work, then maybe the next phase is to root the device and copy the files to /system/app factory reset...

              Sideloading may not work...

My model requires a 3g dongle and Sim from a cell carrier to root. Otherwise, no go. I have noticed that others have the same issue with different solutions. It seems the last ICS update had some kind of issue with Play Store on some devices. I'm hoping this may be the issue. It seems crazy that everything else attached to the Play Store works but not the Play Store!

Another issue some say is that the files have to be side loaded in a particular order. Any ideas on what that order may be?

That is why I want to side load until until someone can crack the update method.
