    No audio at all.

Just received my MK808 today. I flashed Finless 1.6 along with 2dark4u's kernel.

The flash went on with no errors and the unit boots perfectly, however I have no audio in any app.

I've tried different HDMI ports on my TV. In don't know what else I can try.

Is there something special I have to say to get a response? Second thread I've posted with no replies at all.

Am I in the wrong forum?

Can it be that the volume slider is set to zero?

        Thanks for the reply mate.

No, all three sliders are all the way at maximum.

I've ordered a USB sound card to try and connect it to speakers.

Really would rather have sound though HDMI though.

did you try it before you you flashed the rom if not id flash an official rom and see if it works

if you get a usb audio card you wont be able to have audio threw usb and hdmi at the same time any ways

Yeah I tried the stock ROM too, it's the same.

I don't mind having to use USB audio but I'd rather have it through HDMI. I don't need to use both at the same time, I'd just rather not have to set up another set of speakers.

i'm starting to think the unit might be faulty.

I have an Xbox 360 and a Sky+ HD box working fine on all three ports. The HDMI choice is the only choice for audio output in settings. The USB sound card hasn't arrived yet but I assume when I plug it into the hub an option will appear there.

I don't think I have another Mini HDMI to HDMI cable, I have a lot of boxes of leads so I guess it's worth a look.

This is very frustrating I really don't want to have to go through the PITA of exchanging it.

                Any other idea's folks?

well my hdmi cable was to short for what i wanted so i ordered a mini hdmi female to normal hdmi female adapter to use a longer normal hdmi cable cost a couple bucks on ****

my usb sound card is one of thoes see threw green cheap ones from **** which sounds better on my stereo then both my tv and pc

and yes a option does appear in the setting where hdmi is as generic usb audio

mine does not work in stock rom i had to flash finless 1.6 for the usb audio to work and wii ethernet adapter

another thing you will want to get the most out of your mk808 is a stronger power adapter or you wont be able to run alot of usb stuff and even wifi will work better it just works better over all with more power

the ones that come with the mk808 are only 5v 1amp you realy need a 5v 2 amp at least

if you happen to have a old psp charger or can easily get one they work great you just have to cut of the end and put on a mini usb plug
these are 5v 2 amp also most tablet chargers like ipad ect work

Your best bet is a new mini hdmi to hdmi cable ! Mine from Geekbuying was crap and made the sound stutter in almost every movie.

Tried all your suggestions guys but no dice.

I've sent the unit back for replacement.

Thanks for all your input :-)

                        OK. Update time!

I received the replacement MK808 yesterday.

Set it all up and guess what? Still no sound. The seller assures me that they tested the new unit prior to shipping and it was all fine!

Again, I've tried the stock ROM and then Finless 1.6 with 2dark's kernel.

So I was wondering, although both of my TV's have HDMI support do these units require a certain HDMI version? Both my TV's are Toshiba and from the same range. Could my TV's be the problem?

I've tried using my Logitech wireless headset and a £1 USB sound card and speakers. They both work (with Finless 1.6) but the quality is terrible! Very crackly, unusable to be honest.

I've got a Bluetooth speaker but this unit is not the B variant, can I add Bluetooth using a dongle?

EDIT: I never actually tried another cable so I got another on the way.

Change HDMI cabel and buy 1.4 ver.

I have a choppy sound and flicker picture then changed the HDMI cabel and buy the one in the link and everthing works fine.

                            Thanks. I've ordered one.

How weird is this? If I leave the MK808 on and switch back to using another HDMI input (my Sky box in this case) there is no sound. As soon as I turn the MK808 off the sound returns.

                            This is so strange.

Try another HDMI cable, mine original (short one) also not working (no video).
