    Blew Up My MK808!

I had a power surge in my condo over the weekend. Took out my TV, Cable Box, HDMI splitter and my MK808.

Regarding the MK808, was wondering if there would be a fuse or other similar component that maybe be easy to change, if not am I just out of luck?

    Thanks in advance

Have you checked the usb power supply? Hopefully the surge only took out the PS and not the MK808.

Here's another shot in the dark. Have you tried flashing a new rom? Maybe the memory got corrupted like can happen when unplugging without soft powering off first.

Did you have everything connected to your MK808 plugged into a surge protector? Where I live we have a lot of problems with power surges that have destroyed a lot of electronics. Now we use quality surge protectors on everything that matters.

some of these small devices have 'polyester'?? fuses, when they blow it disrupts the material which stops the electric flow. Can take 24hrs or more unpowered for it to recover. Hope yet, don't bin it. sure google will find u info on these fuses

Can't flash a new rom as it won't boot over the OTG (well it wouldn't initially, haven't tried it since)

And yes, I have surge protectors, I live in Thailand and the power here can be extremely dodgy at times. The thing is, the Panasonic engineer that came to fix my TV said the source was most likely the coax cable line coming into my condo, as the cable box had blown, which was connected via HDMI to my TV, and then everything else connected to HDMI was also blown also. No way I know of to surge protect a coax cable, especially as my condo has no earth. Been looking at HDMI surge protectors though, to prevent this happening in the future.

@stevet99uk, thanks Steve, haven't tried since it happened a few day ago, will give it another look tionight. But I guess it's brown bread
