Will we get hardware decoding for rk3066? Can xmbc play 720 mkv files streaming without shuttering.

I have recently been trying to play mkv 720p files using finless cutom rom on mk808, I have found the only way to play them without any stuttering is using a different kernal like kizs v2 1.5 mhz, foe some reason version v4 doesn't work with my mk808 from geek buying.

I initially had the view that mx player supports the rk3066 chipset but now realise the only reason it plays mkv files is due to the reason the kernel slightly enhances the speed and it has smart software decoding.

Knowing I could then play any 720p mkv files without shuttering I decided to load a custom version of xbmc with mx player support but again I am getting shuttering guessing that this must be due to the processor handling the streaming as well as decoding.

Can anyone play steaming mkv files via xmbc/mxplay/navi x?
My windows pc can handle it with the same internet connection speed no problems?

You can try these experimental builds, I had to uninstall Xbmc to make it work, not everything is perfect but it's working fine for 720p videos.

I set up xbmc to use the stock rkvideo player as an external player instead of mxplayer and it works great.

This xbmc works really nice on my UG802 but It's still experimental of course
SD and HD 720p 1080p .mkv .mp4 ........, local and from streaming source are oké for me
No external player needed, it's not perfect but it's getting close

How did you do this? Does it still plays .iso?
Tried it with MXplayer. Worked so far, but i lost the ability to play .iso files. As i have not so many place around so all my DVD´s are stored in a box in a dry place. I made .iso of them, which the original xmbc player plays fine. The problem was 720p and 1080p tried external players that worked well and always lost .iso play.

Been testing this xbmc build out using navi x and streaming movies in 720p no problems directly from the navi x servers.
Tested so far on mx2 and mk808 both with excellent results. Using the latest build from the links below:

BTW make sure you uninstall any previous versions of xbmc as posted above.

                  Many thanks for this link.

I modified the playercorefactory.xml to point to the stock video player instead of mxplayer and setup my network shares as cifs mounts.
I've never tried iso playback with the stock player, so I don't know if that works or not.
