    MX2 Sleep Mode? - Resolved

I've had an MX2 for several months. It has been working very well until the last few days. I'm running a rooted version of the latest stock firmware.

Recently, the box began to shut down (or at least the screen outout shuts off) after a couple of minutes of non-use. If it's only been a few minutes, it will wake up with a mouse click. Longer than that, I usually have to reboot it, although sometimes it will wake up. So, it appears to be some kind of sleep mode, which I didn't know the MX2 had.

I'm puzzled because it would stay on indefinitely before and I used to just leave it running constantly.

I can't find a relevant setting. I have installed a lot of utlitity software and run GO Launcher HD. I have suspected the problem is the result of some of the utilities, but I can't find anything.

I guess I could reflash and start over.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Reflash did nothing - all the data remains as before. I guess I could do a complete reset.

EDIT: FOUND IT. It was ES Task Manager. It has a "power optimization" setting that I must have activated that kills the display after 1 minute.

Sorry for the wasted bandwidth. Carry on.

The sleep mode code is actually in the ROM. It's just they removed the selection from settings! So yes some APPs can actually turn it on!

There is an APP in Google Play that allows you to get at settings not show in the menus. I believe it is called Advanced settings or something like that. I dont remember the name for sure.

If in fact an APP turned on sleep then you should be able ot use this to set it back to never.

Thanks for that info, Bob. It will come handy in the future.
