Smashed Screen

Got a fabulous little tablet from focalprice (23ukp delivered). I was very happy with it, limited though it was. Then I sat on it. Yes, I know. Stupid. I was actually trying to buy a protective case for it at the time! That's irony for you.

At the price, it's not worth buying a new screen for it. Is there anything else i can use it for other than landfill?

I worked on one a few months back and had them get the (digitizer) screen for me. with a little looking they aren't as bad as you might think.

I've replaced phone digitizer screeens before but thought 7" would be much more expensive.

I'll give it a try.

By the way, I was thinking more along the lines of Can I install xbmc or something similar seeing as the computing part of the tablet still works, it's just the screen that's trashed....

with HDMI out and USB for small hub to run Mouse/Keyboard etc....might be worth a shot.....

Ah, no HDMI. Ah well...I'll contact supplier and see they can source a digitiser.
