USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter
Being a newbie to Android I was wondering if anyone can help me, I have bought an Imito MX2 installed Finles Rom 1.5 no Problems there, wireless network OK but when I go upstairs network is not that great so I purchased a USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter from geekbuying.com, luckily it came with a disc and looking at the files its has come with an android file in the drivers folder named ''9700_android.tar'', I have used the adapter without the driver and it works for about 30 minutes but it knocks the router out, most connections on the router show green and flash when connected but the USB adapter shows amber but works till it kills the router and its max is 10mbps or 100mbps automatically and Half/Full Duplex 10/100mbps, so is there a way to install the android driver.
I have attached image with files contained inside the .tar file.

I'm running finless 1.7a, and was struggling with the wifi for HD streams across the network.
So I ordered what looks like the same adaptor as yours, with the same android driver. I'm not getting it crash my router, but it's incredibly slow. The tv sticks wireless max's out at 1.6mb/s, the Ethernet adaptor only gives me max 650kb/s which is pretty useless, and less than half the speed of the wireless. I was also looking see if it is possible to get the driver into Bob's marvelous rom.

Possibly, what everyone may need for their adapter issues is a quick and easy method to compile a driver into a ROM with little risk of damaging their unit. For instance, here is a method for nexus 7:
Nexus 7/Android 4.2:
1) Unlock boot-loader and root your Nexus 7 (http://bernaerts.dyndns.org/android/...nexus-7-tablet)
2) You can either download bootimg (based on JOP40D) that I pre-built on my machine (https://sites.google.com/site/vtsozi...edirects=0&d=1)
or download kernel source code (http://source.android.com/source/building-kernels.html), Android SDK as you will need it anyway (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html). Then deploy source file extracted from driver source code to 'drivers/net/usb/ax88179_178a.c' and header file to include/linux/usb/asix.h also deploy attached KConfig (https://sites.google.com/site/vtsozi...edirects=0&d=1) and Makefile (https://sites.google.com/site/vtsozi...edirects=0&d=1) to 'drivers/net/usb'. Cross compile new kernel image:
export ARCH=arm
export SUBARCH=arm
export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
make tegra3_android_defconfig
make
Assemble newboot.img, more on this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443994
4) using fastboot utility provided with Android SDK re-flash device with new kernel ('fastboot flash boot newboot.img') and reboot Nexus 7 into normal mode. Adapter is going to work right away since android kernel is not modular and all device drivers are pre-loaded into memory at the start-up.

Is there a quick and easy way that works on an android stick to solve adapter issues??
Just a thought for all those wishing to have Bob cook up changes for them.

i was having a look on xda and did find someone injecting a lan driver onto an s3 image, but quickly got lost, i wish i was less of a linux noob and felt brave enough to try this. the only details i could find on the lan adaptor
Brand Name JPHX
Model Number JP1081B
Chipset RD9700
if anyone who is cleverer than me fancies a go heres a link to the 8kb .tar file for the driver.

Re: USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter
We have partial kernel sources(no wifi for rk903 or mediatek chipset), but enough to build drivers, i didn't do it by the moment, but i hope to recive a wifi adaptor and a Ethernet one, and then i will try to compile them. To search the kernel sources look for the omegamoon github.

after millions of hours of messing about, it finally all works, im still on finless 1.7, but after removing every useless android system app eg gmail, maps, and especially the dody wimo app, and overclocking it so it can ramp to 1.4, it plays everything, and is reasonably nippy. i havent flashed it since about july , even using finless's 1080p version i score over 10000 on antutu.
