Lost in rooting my UG802

Hi Guys,

I've been searching and trying to root my UG802 which I received 1.5 weeks ago, but I'm getting lost in all the instructions for different builds of the UG802.
I have the version with Android 4.1 so I am assuming I have the 'new build'?

Everything on the board is fine, but I really want it rooted for numerous reasons.
I tried to follow the instructions on installing the Finless 1.7 rom, but that won't work
because the Rom flash tool will give an error after clicking "Reboot to Flash Mode".

I've followed every step in the instructions (also switching between mass storage and media device) with no succes.

My main goal is to root it, because I can wait on a good custom rom for this version of the UG802.
So are there any tips on how I can simply root my device?

I've just tried to root it using the Moborobo program and the SuperOneClick shortfuse method, and the programs say the device is rooted succesfully, but rootChecker says it isn't and I no rooted apps will run

I already tried the MoboRobo way of rooting but that didn't work (see 1st post).
I also tried the chinese software (was a bit sketchy at first) and that didn't work either.
RootChecker keeps saying that the device isn't properly rooted.
