WiFi LAN copy paste speeds? i get max 1.1 MB/s

    Hi,
    I need some numbers here... (MK808B - Finless 1.6a)

When i try to copy some files via WiFi-LAN i get max speeds of 800kB/s to 1.1MB/s (Checked via app: network speed). Ive tested this both on officePC wifi and home laptop wifi. (ES explorer)

I get connection speeds of 48 to 65mbps. 3 bars and -65 odd signal strength.

I was copying 3 files totaling 1GB. It took like 37 years (give or take 2 years) to finish the task. Phew!
I get similar max speeds while upnp streaming as well.

Are these speeds normal? or shall i expect more with mods?

Re: WiFi LAN copy paste speeds? i get max 1.1 MB/s

After mod my antenna I have got a very good signal strength and got 65Mbps stable, but when I see the network speed graphics, I see regular drops too from 2,5 Mb/s to 700kb/s, this is with all roms I have tried. But I can use ttorrent, view youtube hd, and play files in local network without problems. Last Sunday I saw my soccer team match without problems too in streaming from internet. I don't know why are those drops, maybe a driver issue, but you are not the only one with this problem.

ok i did some research and found that the network (wifi) itself is at "fault" so to speak.
only around 20% of the bandwidth is available for file transfer. (Due to distance, other noise in the air etc etc)
      So 20% of 54mbps = 1.35MB/s (bits n Bytes mind you)
Conclusion: The hardware is great as it can be. No need to mod.
I tested ftp file transfer between an Android Phone and office PC over WiFi. Same ~800 KB/s rates.

Download speed is only 16 Mbps
          Seems to slow

max linkspeed 65mbps no matter what

Seems that the 808B (F1.6a) won't go beyond 65mbps linkspeed no matter what.
            I used a 150N router. laptop connects at 150mbps but 808b only 65mbps max.
Although the wifi copy speeds improved slightly - 1.5MB/s,
streaming was good though. 720p went through at 2.5 MB/s. zero lag.
with my 54mbps G router there was lag for the 720p vids running from nokia lumia.
mind you i have not modded my 808B's wifi hardware at all.

has anybody been able to get the 808B to connect beyond 65mbps? is that the upper limit?
            pls share your experiences.

AW: WiFi LAN copy paste speeds? i get max 1.1 MB/s

Look in init.d folder perhaps there is a script to limit the speed;-)

              best regards

Rk901 (MK808) and Rk903 (MK808B) are chipest based on Broadcomm 4330, but max speed is 65mbps. Also my Nexus 7 (200$/300$) have a chip wifi max 65mbps. The script in init.d is used to force the wifi to connect to 65mpbs, so the problem is not the script, rather serves to hook the maximum bandwidth with the router.

Yes I added that script to reset wifi and connect with max possible.

It is not needed in my 1.7 ROM as they fixed the drivers in later ROMs that I used. 1.6 needed the script.

disgusting that in today's "generation" they make N lite and not full N.
(finally i used this wall banging emoticon )

so which device, under$50, has a real N (atleast 150) wifi hardware?
