After some investigation I have come to the conclusion that there are 3 things going on, causing the problems.
First connection errors, it wont connect to your router no mather what, the solution seems to be with the router settings, in my case it would not connect in wpa or wpa2 mode (tried every custom rom in the 808), in my case its an isp router (Thomson Telia Sverige) so the settings are verry limeted but I had a third choice and that was a mixed mode called wpa&wpa2 and the 808 connected immediately, in all roms on first try.
So look for this mixed mode or try wpa-psk / tkip or wpa2-psk / tkip (not aes)
but....
here comes the speed problem, my internet line gives on a good day 24mbit down/1.2mbit up
in finless 1.6 I get 21/1.2 (almost maxed my line)
finless 1.7, minix + other roms between 1.6 and 0.7 down, about the same up so there must be some driver problem in the rooms or something in kernel?
Finless 1.6 shows 65mbit connection, finless 1.7 shows 5mbit and other pending up/down from 20-55 but I still get about the same on speedtest (between 1.6 and 0.7 down)
And finaly the hw problem…
there is the hardware problem with the antenna wire soldering on the pcb, mine was as many other shorted, remember you can not measure it with an ohm straight away as there is a gamma match in the antenna that makes it say 0 ohm so for you to be able to measure the antenna cable you have to desolder the ground on the antenna and do your measurements or just do an “optical” investigation.
So there is something going on in the roms that have to be looked at as finless 1.6 working fine.
