MK802iiiS swithces to Chinese using an HDMI converter

I am trying to set my buddy up with an MK802IIIS on a non HDMI TV, we got a Sabrent model DA-HDRC HDMI to S-Video/RCA adapter, the problem is the resolution is terrible and the MK802 switches to Chinese language and will not change back. The unit works fine on my HDMI TV so the problem is compatibility with the adapter. Any suggestions? Similar problems? Thanks, Pat

HDMI to Svideo/RCA adaptes are dificult and expensive to use, maybe you can try to change the default resolution while you are conected to hdmi and see if it works when you plug it to adapter, by defaults system expect to find a hdmi device so maybe it cant do the the automatic resolution detecction.
